He was injured and retired, then Will Ospreay called him out and the second half of 2019 he was all over the place.

Aldis and the NWA title would be a double shot of nostalgia but I don’t know what his relationship is to the current Impact management group since he seemed to leave on really bad terms.

I don't remember what regime is what post-Dixie to now, quite frankly. Maybe he and D'More are on better terms than whoever else.

The NWA has Storm, too. AMW for one night is worth a discussion, I think. Outside of Styles and Jarrett, they represent that era more than anyone. Bonus would of course be if they can dig up the original New Church, The Naturals, or the Low Ki and Skipper Triple X.

Their pickings are so slim that I really hope this somehow works. I'll really dig the X Division clusterfuck where they dig up Jason Cross and Jerelle Clark.

A lot of younger wrestlers were citing Red as an influence when he first announced his retirement so my understanding was that he realized how big of a footprint he left and decided to run with it after the Osperay match.

Amazing Red looked mediocre and kind of washed on the Limitless show I saw him at a year or so ago but looked like he had barely lost a step at the NJPW house show in Lowell last fall. But I'm guessing at his age, he figures not necessary to go all out on an indy show in Westbrook. He was also playing a weird cult heel lackey to Anthony Gangone at the Limitless show while he was just the Red we know and love in NJPW so that might also effect it.

Play it safe. Bring his cousin Crimson in to bring back the best tag team of 2010 or whenever it was.

This is a really fun show to fantasy book.

I remember at the time the whole internet jizzed hard at Juvi vs Teddy Hart at the first Super X Cup. We're due for a rematch. Nothing bad will ever happen.

Can we get Johnny The Bull out of retirement to play Rellik (it's "Killer" spelled backwards, ya know?) ?

Looking at his Wikipedia page and he played The Great Muta in AJPW in '04-05. WHAT!?

I remember watching that tournament live and being all excited to watch Juvi again as I hadn't seen him work since WCW. I didn't like or appreciate Sabin at the time so him winning pissed me off and of course he's the one who had the most career mileage after that night.

Sabin was fucking awesome when he debuted in TNA. I still think that the 4-team tag match he debuted in (with SHARK BOY) is one of the best TNA/Impact matches ever.

It's crazy how long him and Shelley have been around the business. Shelley was only 19 when he debuted for ROH and Sabin was 21 when he won the Super X Cup. I know Shelley had a few try outs for WWE in the mid 2000s but am curious on why they never expressed interest in Sabin. I'm sure his size and the fact that he was injury prone had to do with it.

Without a doubt, his size. Wrestling at that time was still about being larger than life. If NXT was around back then, he would have been snatched up (and hoarded away) like everyone else.

After seeing Doug Williams booked for the ROH Past versus Present show, I hope he is available to hit someone with a brick at the TNA reunion.

I was wondering when someone would do a SJW heel gimmick. It makes total sense that it's happening in Impact and it's virtue signaling Joey Ryan.

They don't need that bum. They got Sonny Siaki.

Also because I'm still bitter, Monty Brown should've beaten Daddy Jeff for the title. Travesty.

Oh. Joey Ryan's "Cancel Culture" stable will also feature RVD and his two girlfriends and was created in response to Impact getting kicked off of Twitch for nudity.

In the right hands, that could actually be kinda cool. THOT Van Dam vs Censure Culture.

They got their Twitch back, too, so if they lose it again over this it'll be an ultimate TNA moment.

Monty could've been their biggest breakout star. It always makes me sad he wasn't.

When they had to evacuate the Impact Zone before a ppv that one time, he cut an all time off the cuff promo for his match.

I am so happy for Chris. He's one of the nicest dudes I know, and he's been killing it the past couple of years.

I know Cody was just talking about him the other day, saying that Chris is on his radar. Cody's been a big fan of his for a bit, so it's surprising that AEW didn't take a run at him. They waited too long. Impact always brought him in when they went to Vegas, so it was a matter of time.

He needs to terrorize an island town off the Massachusetts coast first. Shark culture is very specific about its rites of passage.

Steve Harvey showing up during one of the Rascalz smoke sessions might be what it takes for Impact to finally become relevant in the mainstream.

Also oh man I wish I was a fly on the wall when Steve Harvey hung out with Macho Man and Roddy Piper.
