Just watched a match Limitless posted last October, I think. Casanova vs. Hollister.

Yeah, I'm on board. Dude has natural timing. Hollister is one worth looking into, also. He doesn't have the charisma or athleticism of Casanova but he's definitely got the shitkicker vibe going for him and knows how to add flavor between sequences.

Also, did I hear right? IWS, where Steen and Generico cut their teeth and PCO reinvigorated his career, is going to be available on Fight Network US now?! Fuuuuuuuck yeahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Casanova is not only extremely athletic but he carries himself like a star. He has developed that certain je ne sais quoi.

Brad Hollister is still out with a severe leg injury but I'm assuming he'll be back fairly soon cause it happened last spring. It was really bad timing as I think he was just about to break out. I wish he got rid of that "Big Bacon" nickname cause it's so cheesy and outdated that he held me back from liking him for a while. But wrestling fans kind of love cheesy/outdated trends so he'll probably stick with it!

OH! I forgot maybe the thing that most TSMers would want to hear about the show. Kris Statlander made a surprise return, answering an open challenge from Daniel Garcia. Which was p. odd considering her Limitless farewell was on the last Limitless show less than two months ago. It just seemed v. odd. I was reminded of the time Curt Hennig lost a Loser Leaves WCW match on a Russo era PPV then wrestled on Nitro the next night.

I know AEW loosened restrictions of their workers doing indies but it seems like they could've gone about the return a better way. Even maybe a short promo from her explaining why she's back would've helped a lot. Crowd really enjoyed it so maybe I'm just an ol' stick in the mud.

Justice Pain, a big indy name from the early 2000s and Nick Gage's real-life brother passed away.

Went to my first show of 2020 last night. Limitless Wrestling at Yarmouth VFW. It was super packed in there. It was a mostly really well laid out card, with a strong opener (JD Drake Vs Brian Pillman Jr), pre intermission match (The North Vs Maine State Posse in a non-title match), and an incredible main event (Anthony Greene Vs Christian Casanova Vs Ace Romero for the Limitless Title).

Only complaint is 2nd and 3rd matches were both "serious, angry heel Vs comedy wrestler". I would have swapped one of those with one of the post intermission matches. Having two tonally similar matches back to back hurt the flow just a smidge.

Maine State Posse getting a win over the Impact Tag Team Champions seems to indicate that they're building to them being the first Limitless Tag Team Champs and/or maybe a return match for the Impact Tag Team Titles?

Christian Casanova might be my pick for breakout indy star of 2020. All of a sudden, he's just over huge. He's come a long long way from his Michael Jackson impersonator gimmick.

Main event was probably best triple threat match I've seen live. Just really well paced and laid out. Very few "one guy gets knocked out while the other two fight" spots and the ones they had were brief.

Next show is February 22nd with Anthony Greene defending the Limitless Title against Chris Dickinson plus an appearance from Trevor Murdoch.

I'm very much looking forward to checking this out when IWTV gets it up. I'm guessing it'll debut during their Thursday Night Mix. Christian is going to be huge. There's a few guys I'm looking at right now to have that Chris Bey style break out. If Christian has a great showing during For the Culture, this year is his for the taking. IMO GCW shows do more for guy's career than almost any other indy company around today, and Collective Weekend is going to be huge for a number of guys ready to blow up.

In other IWTV news, along with GCW, and AIW, Smart Mark is bringing CZW to them. Their first live stream is going to be their 21st Anniversary show, which is also airing on Fite, but you have to pay for that one. I don't fuck with CZW as I'm a GCW guy, but being free, I might tune in to watch my buddy Casanova Valentine wreck shit.

There is one but there probably should be a newer, better titled one

OK...this HAS to be some sort of work because those are all of things that make Beyond Beyond. I could buy into a couple of these compromises (Beyond has even done shows with guardrails and had plenty of TV guest stars) but all of them? Doesn't pass my smark sniff test.

I'm guessing it's probably part of an angle where some network head tries to impose these rules and Nick Gage and a group of freedom fighters rebel?

Edit: I'm seeing more tweets about the pilot where Beyond's account says "I was told to say" and stuff about how it'd be difficult to get on major streaming platforms without these concessions so it's DEFINITELY a work.

And now there's a slight name change

I'm thoroughly amused at the "Tim Thatcher signing with WWE is the end of the independent wrestling boom." cause Tim Thatcher has done maybe like 5-10 dates a year stateside the past few years. He's not exactly a sizzling hot commodity. Unless they mean the European independent wrestling boom, in which case, sure, I can kind of see it.

Meme wrestlers and death match geeks will keep independent wrestling alive in the USA for a good while though. 8)

100% agree with this. The indies will always be around and something like this won't kill it. If WWE went on a spending spree and signed up guys like WARHORSE, Dickinson, Deppen, and all the other Beyond, GCW, BLP, etc., guys, then it might slow down, but they aren't going to signing up every wrestler out there.

Why Cody Hall's wrestling career has been a massive failure in one tweet.

Looks like he deleted his Twitter after this, at least. Friggin dumbass. He only pops up when he does something extremely stupid. Kind of like his dad if his dad completely sucked.

He really might be one of the dumbest people in wrestling, which is saying A LOT.

The apology mentions he dated a Japanese woman for five years. So totally not racist

Fact that he's dated a Japanese woman for a half decade, worked in at least 3 different Japanese promotions and  STILL can't see it's probably not a good idea to make a  joke about sexually contracting Coronavirus (that confuses the Japanese and The Chinese) really just proves my assertion that he is one of wrestling's dumbest men.

I can't wait for fans and someone else, who I won't name, to throw a shit fit over Suzuki doing comedy wrestling, not realizing that he's been doing comedy matches for years.
