NFL Divisional Round 2020
« on: January 11, 2020, 07:22:37 AM »
Saturday 1/11:
Vikings at 49ers - 4:35 PM (NBC)
Titans at Ravens - 8:15 PM (CBS)

Sunday 1/12:
Texans at Chiefs - 3:05 PM (CBS)
Seahawks at Packers - 6:40 PM (FOX)

And...GO! I've got the favorites in the AFC and the underdogs in the NFC.

All home teams for me.  Seattle certainly seems to be in the best position to upset...unfortunately...  :(

That was the dullest game of the playoffs so far by a mile.

That was extremely cool for Cowher to be told he's in the HOF like this:

/video/1

And then CBS loses that goodwill by having fucking Dan Fouts calling a playoff game.

I agree it's cool but don't they announce the finalists on the day before the Super Bowl.

When was the last time the AFC Champion wasn't the Patriots, Steelers, Colts, Broncos, Ravens, or Titans?  1994?  It seems like forever.

Yes, that's it.  Thanks.  Forgot about that team.

I think in the last 25 years every NFC team has made it at least once except for Detroit, Washington, and Minnesota.  Dallas just barely making the cutoff at 1995.

Mariota has held the Titans down all this time.

Ravens TEs & WRs are all pure trash. If they had people capable of catching passes this would be a lot closer.

Do you guys believe in the NFL MVP curse now? It's been 20 years since a regular season MVP's team won the super bowl and they seem to lose in the playoffs or super bowl in the most embarrassing fashion possible.

Crazy Stat? Derrick Henry is the first RB ever to rush for multiple 180+ yard games in an NFL postseason. Pretty impressive given the long history of the NFL coupled with the largely run-centric focus since really the late 1990s/early 00s.

Fairly confident that the 49ers advance.  The AFC game is a bit more of a tossup because I doubt Vrabel lets his team take that big of a dump on the field with a big lead and Henry can keep their offense on the field.

I know this is a "well, duh" take, but for whatever reason, these playoffs in particular have made me realize the magnitude of dropped passes during this time of year.

Seahawks basically having no run game outside of 'goal line Marshawn Lynch' was also probably a bigger factor in their loss to Green Bay. A little surprised they didn't try to get inventive and use more of Travis Homer and even Tyler Lockett out of the backfield.

I'm just now learning about it, but Seahawks fans on Twitter have a "let Russ cook" saying. I couldn't agree more; that ground & pound style Carroll's deploying doesn't work with their current team configuration.
