This was f'n amazing, I was 15 rows back, they played for 2 hours and 40 minutes and did pretty much everything you'd expect.  Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child o' Mine, Paradise City, November Rain, Nightrain, Rocket Queen, You Could Be Mine, Mr. Brownstone, It's So Easy, Patience, Estranged, Knockin' on Heaven's Door, even three songs from Chinese Democracy.  No "Don't Cry," however. Axl sounded much better than he did when the tour started, which I attribute to the stint he did with AC/DC. And hearing these two ham jams

back to back was one of the highlights of my life. Lenny Kravitz opened, though, and he sucked. If you ever go to a concert where he's the opener, come late.

I've been going through a bit of a Use Your Illusion phase lately.

Chuck Klosterman's probably talked about it a gazillion times but it is really kind of mind boggling that UYI came out a week before Nevermind. Drives home that "Life is what happens when you're waiting for other things to happen" cliché, doesn't it?

Also I lirl everytime I think about Axl giving a proto Jim Halpert smirk at the camera sitting next to the dolphin at the end of the "Estranged" video"

The band just announced a stadium tour and they're hitting MetLife in July. I didn't see their last stadium tour when they first reunited in 2016 so I'm going to try to go to this one. I don't feel like blowing a lot of cash, though.

Smashing Pumpkins are opening up for this stadium tour in Philly, Detroit, Toronto, MetLife, and Fenway.

I DON'T KNOW IF WE'LL EVER BE ABLE TO HOSE ALL OF THE SEMEN OFF OF KRESSE AFTER THIS ONE!

Billy has bagged on Axl in the past so I can't imagine the amount of sour grapes he had to eat to accept this gig.

There is no way that SP were going to headline an arena/amphitheater level tour this summer unless they brought along 2 or 3 other '90s bands. At this point, Billy's probably smart enough to swallow them grapes and just get through these six dates.

I was wondering why tickets to GNR were 50% more expensive than they were last time they came to Boston area. Now I know (That and Fenway has seating for 15k-20k less than Gillette, where GNR played last time)

I'm definitely going to the Metlife show but I will hold off on buying until the inevitable price drop. The tickets have officially been on sale for almost 8 hours now and there's so much blue on the map these dudes might as well be playing in the ocean. I sure hope the tour doesn't get canceled due to low ticket sales, but they really overestimated demand thinking they could come back and do stadiums. It's been four years and the initial reunion momentum is gone. I don't know if there's that much demand for a new album, or even if I want new music from them that badly, but it's the logical marketing hook for a new tour, and it's not happening probably ever. Also I looked at the setlist for their most recent show and the show is largely unchanged from three years ago (actually it's a few songs shorter than the MSG show I went to). They've added Velvet Revolver's "Slither," the old B-side "Shadow of Your Love," "Dead Horse" and the inferior Lies version of "You're Crazy" but that's it. But still, GNR and the Pumpkins bah gawd how can I complain.

FAKE EDIT: Upon further research I see that they played "Locomotive" three times last year and it'll be worth the whole damn ticket price if they play it at Metlife
