My first choice for ATH panelists to be arrested would be Plaschke, but Mariotti would certainly be my second choice.
I want Jimmy Fallon to be dead. That doesn't make me a bad person.

Sweet! This is awesome! Now nobody can hold Jerry Reinsdorf accountable for being a crook!

Quote
When D.C. representatives first met with Reinsdorf and laid out their stadium plans and requirements, they suggested the District would be up for paying two-thirds of the cost if the owners covered the other third.

"We were thinking of a different split," Reinsdorf replied, according to one meeting participant. "We were thinking three-thirds and no-thirds."
Mariotti beat the shit out of the wrong person.

Man I hate college sports. Forget that fact that I live in a town with professional teams (for the most part) and have better entities to apply my loyalty to, one of the my most annoying TV experiences is the fault of college sports.

Back before we had internet, if I wanted to see a score I'd have to watch a channel with a sports ticker. No matter when I tuned it, it was always in the middle of NCAA Divison 69 Backwater Conference Basketball/Football/Water Polo results. It'd take FOREVER just to get to the pros. Why should I have to wait for 10,000 college results for games of no consequence? I guess it's still like this now, but back then I didn't have a choice.

I saw Stephen A. Smith at the Fairfax Farmers' Market over the weekend. He was with a woman, and was wandering around before stopping at the nuts stand. He must have been stocking up, cause he was there a while. I don't know if any cheese doodles were purchased.

Why is an extremely bored looking John King (of CNN semi fame) hosting a Real Sports ripoff on NBATV? They couldn't have found anyone more qualified? Was Ernie Johnson at a charity golf tournament or something?

I've had enough of these ridiculous annual stories about those 4 hosers who have been to every Super Bowl. So they've blown a hundred thousand dollars to get crappy seats to a game better watched on TV, and every year we're expected to...admire them? The point of the publicity is never clear. I guess they're superfans and super rich so we're supposed to care.

It's not even that big an accomplishment to go every year. Show me the guy who's been to every World Series game in the past x amount of years. That's dedication to the sport.

Did anyone hear about women's tennis #1 Caroline Wozniacki? She was criticized for being a boring interview, so in a pre-match press conference at the Australian Open, she made up a story about being attacked by a kangaroo?

I prefer Kim Clijsters calling out the interviewer for texting to another tennis player that he thought she was pregnant...at center court, on live TV.

This preference has nothing to do with the fact that Clijsters is a) hot and b) sounds exactly like Maryse.

What's your most hated sports call? Like when an announcer does this cliche' call you cringe?

Mine would have to be during a game or highlight when an NBA player is on fire and the announcer starts yelling "Stop it! Just stop it!"
I watched RAW. I thought it sucked. The usual problems and such.

Bill Simmons is launching his own website this spring.  It will be owned by ESPN, but won't carry their brand name anywhere.  It is being described as "70% sports/30% pop culture" which is similar to what he does already.  Chuck Klosterman and Kate Baker (from Deadspin) have already signed on as full-time contributors.

I like this move.  It's the sort of thing that will make Czech's head explode, but Bill found his groove again after his last book and I like the idea of him having full control over his content.  The 30 For 30 series is a good example of his creativity.

Agreed. I love Jalen Rose on TV and I thought he did a great job on the documentary, at no point did I feel like he was trying to put himself over. And add to the fact the he admitted he was pissed at Webber for the Martin trial/press conference made me like gim even more.

Great doc and I like the fact they are going to make 3-4 of these under the "30 for 30" label a year.

No doc yet but there was a really good SportsCentury on Don King and I imagine they show it occasionally on ESPN Classic.

Also there was the HBO TV movie on Don King from the late '90s that won a bunch of Emmys but I guess that's another entity.
