Roommate wanted Cheesy Gordita Crunches yesterday and I was happy to take the unwanted drink from his value meal. Baja Blast is really the only reason I go to Taco Bell anymore.

That depends greatly on quality, though.

Poutine is still tops in my book for comfort food. And I've never even been to Canada!

Oh yes. The game hens I split for work yesterday for a function didn't stand a chance. I paid $180 Canadian for it and it was worth every penny.

Sorry to go off topic, but regarding resturants running out of stuff.  The Subway in the Augusta, GA Mall, when I worked there, routinely ran out of everything from bread to ham.  I can kind of understand ham, but how does SUBWAY run out of bread?

A local tavern went up in flames yesterday. Shame though because a) It had the best wings in the region at a reasonable price, especially after 8pm, and b) It was in a building that has been around since 1870.

Pro Tip: Don't eat tempeh for lunch unless you keep Beano at your desk. I'm going to have to sneak out to the CVS down the street if I don't want to gas my co-workers out of the office.

How does ice cream change molecular structure when you drop some and don't notice.  I just found a splotch on my stove and instead of being a sloppy melted sugary goo, its a crusty, paint like mess. Between this and jello I think we need to reconsider the law's of nature.

It's trying to get my consistency. Usually its too thick and when I try to thin it out with lemon juice it comes out with a lemon flavour.

You doing it in a food processor or in a double boiler? Either way, sub in a little warm water instead of lemon juice; especially if your only biff is consistency. Most people get it too hot and break it.

Pro tip: Clarified butter.

Much easier without a double boiler. Direct heat, and take the bowl off the heat.

Those signs at Subway (and other such reatailers) noting that both the supply amount AND quality of things like tomatoes and green peppers were affected by a cold snap in Florida? Not just a lie to cover their ass for people with picky tastes... the green peppers I had on my tuna sub earlier this week had no crispness at all and were pretty bad.

I'm a really big fan of the various weird ramens they have at the big Asian grocery store a few minutes away. We've been eating them mostly for lunch at work or whatever (since I have short breaks and most of these just take some hot water and 3 minutes) and sometimes eating them for a quick meal at night. My girlfriend and I just tried this "mystery" ramen that was actually really, really good but we can't figure out for the life of us what the fuck it says. I scanned in the cover of the bowl:

So, does anyone speak/read Japanese? The hell does that say?

I forgot to add. So I took the Salmon out of the fridge on Monday. Fucking awesome, especially with salmon with the brown sugar and liquid smoke added to the flavour.

I just had a few deep fried mac and cheese poppers as part of a mystery basket appetizer plater at a restaurant in Clearfield, PA hawking huge hamburgers. Surprisingly delicious. Or maybe not surprisingly, but I don't think I would have ordered it on purpose.

There is two items I dislike in the cooking world. Mustard and Coconut (not Coconut milk though).

It's something that my palate does not like, and any detection of mustard I just want to spit the item in question right out. Coconut I find overwhelms other flavours.

I tried it earlier, it's salty but that's what KFC is.

The chicken is too thick
Not enough sauce
hard to hold because the chicken is so thinck it's hard to chew properly

don't plan on trying it again. Not because it sucked, because it didn't. It was just average, and I had a hard time chewing it. It didn't give me mudbutt and everyone knows I have stomach problems. That's a huge plus in favor of it.

I had the complete opposite effect, post-double down experience. It fuckin killed my stomach, already started feeling rumblings a few hours after eating, and within 18 hours I was shitting liquid pretty much hourly. I've had it with KFC really, if I ever hit up any fast food chicken from now often, I'll just wait until I make it to a Popeyes up north instead.

I couldnt even eat the whole thing since it was just too much overpowering salt/sodium content, more than any sort of norm even KFC employs. I think with mine also, they overdid the sauce (and that sauce tasted fucking weird) as it was one big slimey mess halfway through it. A mixture of that sauce, a coagulated cheese product, and the grease of the chicken dripping off it = wrong.

A friend of mine is going on and on about the "McGangBang". Could they not have thought of a less vulgar name for this? At least BK calls their similar sandwich (I guess, anyway) the Noah's Ark.
