Final Fantasy X Music - Brass de Chocobo

My favorite chocobo theme ever. I also loved the main chocobo music from FFIX, and all the ones from FFVII.

MUSIC: Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest - Dark King Theme

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Music - The Tragic Prince

I love these two more than any other, but I LOVE me some video game music. I'm borderline obsessed at times.

Two Chrono Trigger songs on the Japanese soundtrack but that weren't included in the game, until the DS release anyway.

Chrono Trigger Music - Battle 2 (unreleased track)
Chrono Trigger Music - Singing Mountain (unreleased track)

It's too bad the first one wasn't include, pretty good battle music.

Where was the unreleased battle theme at in CTDS? I haven't really played much of it yet.

Good call on Mega Man 2 Dr. Wily. We can fill a topic with great Mega Man music alone.

I think Mega Man 2's soundtrack could be released as a soundtrack and I would buy it.

Flash Man
Metal Man
Crash Man
Air Man
Bubble Man
Wood Man
Heat Man
Quick Man

Add in the Dr Wily music and that's 9 great tunes.

I always thought the music to Metropolis Zone from Sonic II was cool.  Must have been big in Sweden as well since the Hives used it for "Walk Idiot Walk".

Along those lines, the Sonic 2 Final Boss music is pretty kick-ass IMO.

I own the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack, but I skip Knuckles tracks. Never liked them, at all. Possibly because of first playing his levels and taking half an hour to find the stupid emeralds and hearing the music looped forever.

The geek shall inherit the earth.

"We're all geeks. I'm trying to reclaim that word, because a geek is just someone who carries the enthusiasm of childhood into adult life." -- Simon Pegg, co-writer/star of "Shaun of the Dead."

I gave up watching pro wrestling in favor of something better written, more coherent, and less insulting to my intelligence--girly comic books.

There will be a Final Fantasy XIII Piano Collections album. This is excellent news. The composer, Masashi Hamauzu, was responsible for FFX's Piano album, and it came out one of the great game-related albums of all time. I even performed a couple of the pieces when I was a music major (much to the detriment of my not-so-open-minded teacher. I paired one of them with Mendelssohn).

I don't even have a PS3 or whatever wacky system this game is on, so I'll be studying the soundtrack in preparation for this release.

*** This was a demo given away by SEGA, so technically its not an actual game, yet kinda is, so I'm including it.

%%% Like the videos say, Soma Bringer is one of the biggest crimes of not being localized even though it would be a huge hit.

~~~ All 3 games that make up the entire Legend of Heroes VI will soon be released so I'm including this song. Unless the PSP can't handle it, this will be what the game version sounds like.
And yes, everything that is up here, I have in fact played. Unless otherwise stated or indicated its not over here. Also, yes, there is an actual language called Hymmnos. It was created specifically for Ar Tonelico, though I don't think it officially became a real language until the second game. For more information on Hymmnos, please visit here.
I think spending 3 hours on this wasn't so bad. Could've been worse if I didn't decide to give up on trying to recall more.
Main Entry: song
Pronunciation: \ˈsȯŋ\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English sang; akin to Old English singan to sing
Date: before 12th century
1 : the act or art of singing
2 : poetical composition
3 a : a short musical composition of words and music b : a collection of such compositions
4 : a distinctive or characteristic sound or series of sounds (as of a bird, insect, or whale)
5 a : a melody for a lyric poem or ballad b : a poem easily set to music
6 a : a habitual or characteristic manner b : a violent, abusive, or noisy reaction <put up quite a song>
7 : a small amount <sold for a song>
— song·like \-ˌlīk\ adjective
Technically not songs, but words change meaning all the time anyways. If you want to call video game compositions songs, you're close enough to right.
Yeah, a dictionary definition sure is demented. "Suteki da ne" from FFX is a song. The boss battle music is not. It's a piece. Or you can say composition, or even theme.
You know I totally forgot about Legend of Legaia. That was actually a pretty good game back in the day. Hasn't aged well, however.
I find it interesting that most of the themes (don't wanna get SO mad by saying song) we're picking seem to be from the RPG genres. That begs a question: is it because we invest so much time into RPGs that we remember those themes better or is it that other genres just suck with making good music?
You know, I just thought I'd post up the guys who have been producing some of our most remembered soundtracks. Here's the list:
Pick a game that's listed, and its most likely got some fantastic music.
Video Game Music Anyone?
You know, I've been listening to a lot of cover/remix bands lately and they are all pretty damn good. Its a shame that video game companies don't ask one or two of them to come over and help them with a sound track to make it sound much better or to give it a slightly different rendition.
I know some chiptuners get jobs on indie games.
