We've had separate threads for the various shows before but I don't think we've had one for the whole line-up of animated Sunday shows. Simpsons, FG, AD, Cleveland Show are all back tonight with Cleveland show featuring Ric Flair! I'm sure it will still be horrible.

I can. The children annoy me, but I hear if I look past it, it's a good show.

I'm upset that I'm actually going watch TCS tonight. Damn you Ric Flair.

I find the younger two kids on Bob's Burgers to be pretty damned funny, but the oldest daughter...blech. And of course, she gets more of the focus then the other two.
But that's the way I like it baby

American Dad is the only one I usually look forward to. Simpsons has improved the last few years but the "Nedna" thing at the end of last season was silly. Family Guy is incredibly hit and miss.

I still enjoy FG, it just bugs me when they take one joke and run it into the ground for 22 minutes. Surfin' Bird is a prime example. Fuck that episode.

C'mon, Tina's great!  I didn't like her initially, but she ended up w/ some p. great material - "this is where I thrash", her "complicated relationship" w/ zombies.  Here's some more stuff: http://www.tvquotes.net/show.php?cn=212&/character/Tina+Belcher

Gene & Louise are great, too, but Tina is underrated.

So far I've watched the Simpsons and it sucked.  It's bad enough usually but when they try to do stuff to make it seem relevant to the modern day (shit with technology and social media) it's even worse.

If I were to judge it by just 12 minutes - and I will - I've enjoyed it so far. Does it fall of a cliff big time somewhere? It sounds you didn't like the Taiwanese dramatization joke (and indeed, I believe I have to explain that joke to a friend of mine) but that's my favourite part so far. There were some other good jokes so far too ("I know what I'm doing" / "We all know what we're doing, but are the actions appropriate to the situation at hand?").

The Kim Jong Il song at the end is funny too... and that's where the episode ends in my viewing.

American Dad was the only one that was memorable because it was completely different than the usual AD episode. Really weird one. Super dissapointed with Flair on Cleveland show but that show is awful.

My view:  Simpsons was bad.  Family Guy was eh.  Cleveland Show was eh...which is actually good for the Cleveland Show.  And American Dad was good and wins this week (which honestly is probably a streak of some length at this point)

American Dad's quality is inversely related to the quality of Family Guy. It's actually a lot like South Park in that it's a show which was okay at first, but hit its stride after a season or two.

I remember seeing the first American Dad episode and it was so bad that I didn't bother watching another one until I randomly caught one in probably season 3.  It got so much better.

Taiwanese dramatization joke was a funny moment because it seemed like people who didn't really know what it was based from, still just thought it was a funny moment anyway.

As far as the Seth McFarlane comedy hour and a half.  I enjoy all three shows, but sometimes can't watch them all back to back, sometimes they just come off too similar, especially Family Guy/Cleveland show.

I DVR all the Animation Domination shows. I usually watch the Seth shows that night, but here it half a week later and I still haven't touched the Simpsons. I find more enjoyment in rewatching the shit out of the first six seasons I have on DVD.
I watched RAW. I thought it sucked. The usual problems and such.

I'll agree it was weak, but I don't think "topical" is a good criticism since the first Treehouse did "The Raven", and many others parodied sources that are decades old.

Well there's an obvious difference between using classic material like Poe that was from WAY before you were on and missing the boat on Avatar by a couple of years.

I think the least topical thing they ever did was a parody of how boring the political intrigue in Episode I was in an episode I believe may have aired after or just before Attack of the Clones. I think it was an Act 1 set-up to get Marge and Homer drunk in a California wine valley but it just came across as really bad, especially since Star Wars exists in that universe anyway and there was no need to invent a new movie for a few jokes about Episode I.

Did anyone watch Allen Gregory? Fox and/or Global must have put a lot of money behind advertising it since I saw a banner ad for it on the Observer site (which I never see anything from Canadian channels there, let alone any ad that isn't relevant to MMA, wrestling, or sports betting / fantasy leagues), I saw an ad for it on the front page of a newspaper, and several - several - spots for it during the MLB Playoffs. Ok, great, I know what Allen Gregory is, and I also know I've been so annoyed by ads for it I would avoid watching it even if it didn't look pretty lame in the commercials (a 7 year old with a rich background dresses in fancy clothes, lives with his gay dads, and is in love with his old lady teacher - laughing yet?)

Treehouse of Horror was pretty bad, but I wouldn't say it was the worst; I personally reserve that for Mr. & Miss Simpson.

Also, I thought Allan Gregory was awful. The main character is like a younger, more pretentious, more ignorant male version of Peggy Hill. And he's the MAIN CHARACTER. He was getting on my nerves before I had even watched a full episode, so I doubt I'll ever watch this again.

I liked that episode of King of the Hill where it was pointed out to Peggy that nothing she does is special and she doesn't need to add her name to dishes that are the same everyone else makes. Will Mike Judge be bringing that show back in 12 years? Did I already ask that in the B&B thread?

Traditionally yes, Treehouse would air after Halloween, but the World Series was scheduled to end no later than the 28th this year.

I enjoyed Spider-Homer, but I could have lived without the rest of the episode. Family Guy was a little too dark and serious for my taste. I did like Quagmire smashing his sister's abusive boyfriend with Peter's car at the end though.

Fox orders 9 more episodes of Bob's Burgers - http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/10/fox_orders_up_more_episodes_of.html

Quote
Fox apparently loves the taste of Bob's Burgers. Vulture hears that later today the network will announce it's green-lighting production on nine more half-hour episodes of the off-beat animated family comedy, even before the show's second season debuts. Season two of the 20th Century Fox TV produced toon, announced back in April, will now run for 22 episodes instead of 13. However, depending on how the just-debuted Allen Gregory and the upcoming Napoleon Dynamite turn out, it's possible some of these episodes of Bob's won't actually air until the 2012–13 season. Whenever they run, the pickup is a vote of confidence in Bob's, which is exec produced by Loren Bouchard (Dr. Katz) and Jim Dauterive (King of the Hill), and features H. Jon Benjamin (Archer) as the voice of a frazzled patriarch trying to run a family-owned greasy spoon. Upcoming plotlines for season two will find Bob and his brood experimenting with a food truck and getting involved with a needy bank robber.

Awesome!

I finally watched the last two weeks of these shows. Allen Gregory's second episode was much better but it's still not very good.

The Simpson's tree-house episode was so bad I've already forgotten most of it. The episode from last Sunday did have two bits that were pretty good though. Homer up late at night going over his checks realizing that being demoted means his checks get smaller (but not physically) and later the initials bit (Stupid Flanders).

Family Guy with the abusive BF wasn't very funny and the one with Ryan Reynolds wasn't either but for a different reason. American Dad was decent.
