Brock Lesnar wasn't over with me until he busted out that forklift to win his stretcher match with Big Show. Ever since HHH was randomly shown driving one with Flair giving him directions backstage on Raw once, I've been a mark for forklifts in wrestling.

What about Halftime Heat?
I'd actually never seen that match, I'm glad Silence posted it right after your post. That was all well and good, but Ric Flair randomly directing HHH on a forklift in the background of some hardcore match without anyone really noticing was hilarious. "C'mon, champ! Whoo!"

In terms of the women's division, 2005 was really bad (outside of Trish's mega awesome heel character).

Lita was injured and out for the year.  Molly got released shortly into the year.  Trish was champion but wrestled sparingly throughout.  At one point, the top female feud on Raw was Victoria and Torrie Wilson!  Ashley, Candice Michelle, and Torrie Wilson were all playing "key" roles in the division in the 2nd half of the year.  The only upside was the introduction of Mickie James' character.

At least in 2002 you had Trish Stratus, Jazz, Molly, and Victoria as champions at some point during the year. Jacqueline and Lita were also involved in the division and it included the introduction of Victoria.  Trish and Jazz's feud started the year, leading into Trish and Molly for most of the year before leading into Trish and Victoria to cap the year off.  2002 was Trish Stratus' break out year and also, arguably, the return of the Women's division as a legit division as opposed to just titillation scenarios.

At least 2002 brought us the good Victoria vs Trish Survivior Series match.

2002 might have had HLA, Katie Vick and the name change, but those SmackDown 6 matches more than make up for that.

2003 had the bad Hogan/Vince feud, which transitioned into the hideous Vince/Stephanie feud. And on RAW, you had HHH's non-stop reign of terror and Shane vs. Kane.

2003 had Cena's rise to the top and NOTHING else.

2003 also had the real start of Batista and Randy Orton's rise to the top. Both pushes (like Cena's) started out in late 2002 but they really going in 2003 when Evolution became the dominant stable. Looking back, I'd argue that 2003 was the start of the building of the foundation that WWE rests upon today.

How could *I* possibly forget about Heel Rock!? He was the best part of 2003! Too bad he was only around from February until April! Such a short time, but such a memorable period in his career.

Heel Rock helps 2003's case as well. I would also throw in Nowinski's continued bringing of the awesome. The Nowinski/Steiner debate and the grouping of Ivy Leaguers with black people on the list of people oppressed by "the man" were both hilarious.

I believe the forklift was parked in front of Kane's dressing room to keep him from coming out for the main event or something like that.

IIRC, HHH had a Lumberjack Match with RVD, and parked the forklift in front of the babyface lumberjacks locker room.

Ah yes, I knew it was one of those first World Heavyweight Championship feuds that HHH should have lost. Maybe not the Kane one, but the RVD program demanded it at the time.

2003 was bad. HHH continuously shit the bed when he had the "your people" burial of Booker T, the long feud and terrible HIAC with Nash, HHH super-manning through the Elimination Chamber at SummerSlam to kill Goldberg's heat, and then HHH winning the Goldberg feud by beating Kane for the title at Armageddon. RAW was just the shits.

Smackdown wasn't much better, with Angle and Brock feuding through Brock's worst big time matches (although he did have fun stuff vs Big Show) and a weak undercard.

I don't think there were any matches from WWE 2003 that would be consider for Best of the 00's. Am I missing any?

HBK-HHH from the last RAW of 2003 was the shit. One of my favorites of all time.

I also love Austin's last match against The Rock.

Was it that good? I remember liking it but I haven't seen it since. WGTT was really good in 2003, vs Guerreros in April, vs Guerrero/Tajiri in May/June, vs Kidman/Rey in July. Pretty good run for them.

I don't recall liking the SS match but I'll give it a re-watch. The others, ehhh, not so good. I wouldn't put HBK vs Y2J from WrestleMania up with any of the other "big" WrestleMania matches of the 2000's, and aside from Rock vs Austin in 2001 I don't think any of them will be contenders for MOTD.

Yea, the Vengeance match was sweet.

WGTT v. Guerrero/Tajiri is terrible. Haas can't do ladder matches.

Oh yea, Angle v. Taker is one of my favourites. Shame it didn't have a finish

This. Which tells you how bad 2003 when the match of the year came in January.

Or maybe the match was that fucking awesome?

Wrestlemania 19 was a pretty good event overall, three great matches with Angle/Lesnar, Rock/Austin, and Jericho/HBK and a bunch of good to decent matches. Angle/Taker on SD! was a great match, Angle/Cena at No Mercy was underrated, same with Orton/HBK at Unforgiven, and Team Austin Vs. Team Bischoff at Survivor Series.

The Team Austin/Team Bischoff match at Survivor Series 2003 is what finally convinced me that Shawn Michaels was back to being as great as he was during the 90's.

WGTT vs Kidman/Mysterio from Vengeance is my MOTY for 2003, though.

That match is awful. Sloppy, with lots of mistimed spots and it just drags on and on with none of the wrestlers having an idea of what to do. That whole show is depressing

Yea, that was fucking awesome.  IMO, the match should have ended with the Super Hurricanrana from the top, even the crowd thought it was over, but for as good as the match was, I really can't complain.

The one saving grace for me - 2002 wise - was Mr. Perfect making the final four in the Royal Rumble (which was a pretty entertaining, if undistinguished Rumble). That was Hennig's last hurrah.

I love Hennig swatting the gum when he was almost about to be eliminated.

My vote goes to 2003 over 2002 but 2003 had some good hidden gems on PPV, as mentioned previously. Vengeance 03 is a fantastic top to bottom PPV, IMO. Same with WM 19.

Maybe I am mistaking the match then. It has been almost five years since I've seen the show.

Agree on the love for Vengeance 2003. I was surprised how entertaining top-to-bottom the PPV was. Same with No Mercy 2003, actually. Cena/Angle and Train/Benoit were both really good.
