The EC3 interview where I saw this match linked mentioned a recent ten man tag at an indy show in Cleveland that was EC3, Samoa Joe, DJ Z, Raymond Rowe, and Matt Cross Vs Josh Prohibition, Johnny Gargano, Alex Daniel, and The Young Bucks. NOW that's a good candidate for this thread if there's video of it...

I can't see the video at work, but yeah, that match was pretty nuts. It happened at AIW's Absolution X this past July. Here's a link to the $11.99 digital version of it http://smartmarkvideo.com/promotions/absolute-intense-wrestling/aiw-mp4/aiw-july-10-2015-absolution-x-cleveland-oh-download

Plus, there's the fun fact of having wrestlers contracted to WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground, and Evolve in one match.

Huh, had no idea Bossman did some work in Japanese promotions. Also, it still amuses me how IWA Japan had gimmicks based on horror movies.

Pretty sure he was dead a week or so after this match.

I also think I learned this fact from this forum.

Not a match, but I had no idea Bob Sapp made an appearance in WCW . . .
Actually, Sapp was supposed to eventually debut in WCW as a wrestler.  He'd started training in the Power Plant shortly before they went out of business, and they'd had him working some in NWA Wildside back when they were using it as an unofficial developmental fed.

Huh, had no idea Bossman did some work in Japanese promotions.
More than ya knew:

Also, it still amuses me how IWA Japan had gimmicks based on horror movies.
They were far from the only ones, Memphis did that shit all the time.  Hell, just a few years ago they ran an angle where Tom Savini actually sent Jason Voorhees to take out Jerry Lawler.

Pretty sure he was dead a week or so after this match.
Actually it was closer to a month later; but yeah, not long.

Although ironically this wasn't his last match.  THAT award went to another bout he had later the same night on this show, a tournament final against Jim Duggan of all people:

I'd be surprised to find out you don't know about Bossman in AJPW. It's probably the strongest overall work of his career.

I was under the impression the horror movie guys in IWA Japan were just Memphis guys bringing their gimmicks overseas. Was this not the case?

It's matches like that, which make me still miss Saturday Night after all these years.

Is it possible to include matches that haven't happened in this thread?

It seems like AIW specializes in multi man tag matches that don't really make any sense but seem like they might be reasonably entertaining novelty matches.

Looking at some local indy's FB page and somehow saw a show that took place at a small street fair in Chicago main evented by a Tatanka Vs Trent Barretta match.

Tatanka Vs Trent Barretta is def a super random match!

I said that AIW is the best current indy promotion in terms of producing future candidates for this thread but Pro Wrestling Syndicate gives them a run for their money...

Found a newish All-Japan channel with a bunch of odd matches:

Harley Race and Crusher Blackwell vs. Tiger Jeet Singh and the One Man Gang

Greg Gagne and Jim Brunzell vs. Dory Funk Jr and Kerry Von Erich

A masked duo of Star Wars rip off gimmicks

Knew this match existed but didn't think it'd get uploaded to YouTube so soon!

Love how touched Angle seems to be by the reaction of 1,000 British rasslin geeks.

Honestly, would like  to see Angle be the Undertaker of the indy scene and just do special attraction matches like this and in PWG and stuff.

The Young Bucks completely ripped off the Hardy Boyz' circa 1998 look.

Ironically, Jim Cornette really marks out for the Hardys in this clip.

I forgot how annoying Shane McMahon was as a color commentator. This commentary team is weird. Cornette doing PBP, Shane McMahon as annoying mark color commentator.

A few things:

this is worth watching just to see the styles clashes. Seeing Sting and Terry go at it with UWF legends on the outside is surreal. great match imo.

the fan interaction at 3:28 might be the best fan interaction ever. Even Terry Funk was at a loss for words, you know how crazy that guy must be if the Great Terry Funk is stumped. JR makes some MEAN comments about him, but that was the 80s. Looks like security takes him out after and the fans boo
Spoiler: show
BUT HE COMES BACK

the match itself is classic 'singles stars vs. singles stars' tag team rasslin', made a little shorter for TV to get people hyped for something bigger. Too bad because it's not like they ever pushed this combo, might as well have gone all out here.

I can't believe a guy can be that big, and jump around like he does what a great athlete!

Striker's post-WWE career is kind of weird. He commentates for any promotion that has television exposure but wrestles on every other indie. I actually met him at Dreamer's House of Hardcore show last year. Cool dude.

Yeah.  He's one of the guys I feel bad making snarky comments about because he seems like a legit nice dude but I don't want to see him wrestle or hear him commentate.  He really should've kept on managing guys like Big Daddy V except male managers aren't really a thing outside Heyman.

I vaguely remember when MVP would find random scrubs to face early in his WWE run and he was getting "champions" from across the globe, think leading into his US Title win over Benoit.  Well, just found out that one of those guys was actually Johnny Gargano

From 07/19/1992 at Warwick, RI ... Randy Savage takes on Shawn Michaels at a House Show. Never knew they wrestled each other again aside from their notable Coliseum Video match in April of that year.

Typhoon teams with Akio Sato to take on El Gigante and Fred Kitao, no doubt seeking revenge for the shoot attack on his former tag partner.  This was also El Gigante's last match.
