Baron Davis was abducted by aliens. Thoughts?

Quote
Baron Davis subtly mentioned that he had a run-in with aliens in a recent podcast.

The former Knicks guard, who traveled with the team often last season despite being injured, told the WestCoastRydaz.com about the incident.

“I was actually abducted by aliens two weeks ago,” Davis said.

When probed for details, he explained he was driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in the early morning recently and this is what happened:

“I see this light and it’s a big a—truck. And I said, oh f---- this is going to be traffic,” Davis said. Driving, driving and the next thing you know there’s a steel thing and these crazy looking people – half human, half ugly-looking mother f-----s.

“They were poking me on the nose, looking at my eyes, they had my hands tied and the next thing you know I was in Montabello dude, burning rubber on the way back to L.A. at 4 o’clock in the morning.”

He was asked a couple of times by the hosts if this was a true story and he didn’t back down. Davis said he couldn’t explain how he traveled so far, so quickly and said he went to the parking lot of an In N Out Burger to collect himself.

All in all he doesn’t have any complaints, though.

”I don’t think it was an abduction cause now I am sharper and s—t. I am retaining information,” Davis said.

Projected Dallas Mavericks depth chart:

Calderon/Larkin/Harris/Mekel/Akognon
Ellis/Carter/Ledo
Marion/Crowder
Nowitzki
James

Shawn Marion's going to be logging minutes at center

With the Mavericks, they're going to have to bring back Wright for that depth at center.  I started to see some development from him, as he got a bit tougher inside.

I like the Ellis signing if they're looking to move Carter, or as a replacement at SG.  Now, they just need to make sure he does nothing but drive to the basket.

So......the Mavs voided their deal with Devin Harris due to a medical issue with his toe, which was a recurring issue with him all last year.  The article that broke it cited that "both sides agreed to void the deal" but it seems sketchy coming in the wake of the Ellis signing.  Like they agreed to the contract and told Harris, "look, we're not putting pen to paper unless we absolutely have to, but if it comes to that, sure, you got a deal with us"

Shitty for Harris.  Now with available cap space for most teams non-existent AND his toe injury flaunted out there, he's fishing for a 1 year minimum deal.  Cuban will probably show him some love and sign him, but it's not like they need another G now.

Shane Larkin fractured his ankle and is out for up to three months.  That's really too bad for many reasons.  On the bright side, Jae Crowder accomplished the task that Rick Carlisle had set out for him, and dropped fifteen pounds since the end of the season.  I'm looking to seeing how much of a difference it makes on his athleticism.

Metta won us one game with his hero ball. Most important game a team can play...but one game.

If he goes to the Knicks, he'll wind up riding pine (because the Knicks have many better players), then he'll freak out and quit.

Nah, he'll be the starting SF.  Melo is locked in at PF, both him and Woodson like him there.  The team really didn't have a SF last year, JR ended up playing there a lot late in the year in 3 guard lineups.  Plus Amare is on a 25 minute a night max limit and might not play in back to backs.

Chandler-Melo-Metta-Shump-Felton starting 5
JR 6th man
Prigs will get a lot of run, and they're working with Shump at PG in the summer league.  Melo and JR did a lot of bringing the ball up/initiating the offense when Felton was out of the game last year anyway, so they'd probably be comfortable with a Shump-JR-Metta-Melo 1-4
Bargnani will play all 3 frontline positions

Woodson loves guys who play defense and play hard, so if we get Ron Ron will play

He held SFs to league average production and PFs to below league average production. Laker defense was better when he was on the floor. All he needs to do is defend and take a beating for Melo.

That's all he needs to do, but that's not what he will do. He's like a black hole when he gets the ball, and while it's funny when you know the team isn't going to do shit, when the team was in position to win things it got pretty annoying. His body is falling apart too. I'd be awfully surprised if Bargnani was brought in to come off the bench, so things will work out over the long run that Ron doesn't wind up in the starting five if that deal happens. I think there's a decent chance of him signing with the Clippers because ABC here lets him do a TV gig sometimes and he seems pretty into it.

It would be funny if he signed with the Knicks, performed well and then started bitching about playing time. If he plays well and doesn't play 30+ minutes, he might. And I hope he punches that wifebeater Jason Kidd right in the fucking face after Spike Lee gets him hyped.

He's going to play under a GM who knows how to build a championship team. He and Kobe are friends too so that doesn't hurt anything. I mean, just maybe he thinks the Knicks cap is shit (like the rest of the people in this country) and that they can't build a winning team around him.

Considering David Stern blocked your series of bullshit trades, I doubt Mitch is gonna build any championship team any time soon because his trick of flipping aging stars for stars got stopped. The Knicks are gonna have just as much cap room the following year when he can handpick who he wants to play with (Rondo, Gasol, Aldridge) in his hometown. Not to mention that Kobe ain't taking a paycut, and Melo can get the most money in New York. Knowing Melo, he's not passing that up.

Lakers are gonna be shit as long as Kobe continues to be an albatross for that franchise

We got championship ambitions while Laker fans are talking about tanking for the lottery and amnestying KOBE and hoping our MVP (who is constantly shitted on by non-Knick fans) comes to play for them

He might not wind up as a Laker but he definitely won't be staying in New York without an immediate roster overhaul. He'll get to pick a different coach than that homo you guys laid off on us too. What's funny is that shitty ass coach did better with the Lakers than he did with the Knicks somehow. It's better to have ambitions of signing Melo than of winning championships when the Knicks aren't even close to doing so.

I bet you guys wish the Knicks had an albatross like Kobe who gave you five title winning teams to watch. At least when the Lakers stuck by their aging franchise player he did something worth caring about him for.
