The Knicks are gonna have just as much cap room the following year when he can handpick who he wants to play with (Rondo, Gasol, Aldridge) in his hometown.

I thought he was from Bodymore?

He is, but apparently the city that you leave at 8 years old is your hometown for life. I mean shit, now I can say I grew up in the hood. I'm hard.

Lol Nets are a one and done squad... Best hope in the Bulls, Pacers, or even the broken Knicks ahead of them.

DJ Augustin is signing a one-year deal with the Raptors.

It sounds like the Dalembert to Mavericks signing is getting closer to being finalized.

why?

If what I've read is correct, Durant's max contract was early-extended in 2010 before the lockout. The new CBA approved the "Designated Player Rule", which basically gave a new contract ceiling to guys that met certain high-value criteria (which only fit Durant and Rose to that point). Durant gets the NBA's approval to meet the new ceiling....the new ceiling is applied to his extension (because it hasn't lapsed into the new max contract yet), then OKC tricked the Board of Governors into making the NBA pay the difference between his old max (5 yrs @ $74 mil) and his new max (5 yrs @ $89 mil).

Technically, it shouldn't happen because Durant was early extended before the lockout and that contract should be honored. Also, Westbrook met the criteria too and got the same ceiling attached to his contract, even though teams are only allowed one player with that contract.

The NBA will only pay a portion of the difference; they'll probably fight the decision as well.

Not much but he was already showing promise last season. This is just an extension of what he was already doing. It's just magnified cause Summer League competition blows. I still expect him to be a top 2-3 center in the East pretty soon.

That article said that Austin Rivers played well in Summer League. So, none.

Jonas might turn out to be a good player, but Summer League hype is lame.

The other problem with summer league is that almost everyone in it isn't good enough to play in the NBA. His stats look good, but the best big he played against was Dexter Pittman and he went 4-12 from the field in that game lol.

Now I feel like the kid at birthday parties who sneaks around popping balloons.

lol nah like BZ said, I already thought he was good based on his play last year. But I was hoping that this would solidify some of the hype. Him adding bulk to his frame, while not being effected in terms of running the floor, is a good sign regardless of anything else.
