Finally got to watch the pilot this morning. Some thoughts-
- Am I the only one who thought the actor cast as Gordon kinda looked like a young Russel Crow? I've never seen anything else that he's doen, but the whole episode I kept trying to figure out where I've seen him before. Finally it just clikced that he kinda gave off a Russel Crow vibe.
- Why was Bullock so worried that he had killed an innocent man if Pepper had indeed been framed? Pepper was a parolee with a gun (against the law), who tried to shoot a cop (against the law), and then tried to gut a cop (against the law) after fleeing a lawful interrogation. That's a justified shoot if I've ever saw one.
- Not sure how I feel about Montoya being a detective in the MCU already. One of the best aspects about her character in the comics (and the cartoon) was that she started as a rookie beat cop, who earned her way to a detective's badge. I guess they didn't want two rookies on the show, but maybe they should have held off on her character for a few seasons (OF course, this is Fox, so there might not be a few seasons).
- That being said, I'm intrigued by the fact that Montoya and Barbara had a fling. Wonder how that dynamic will play out.
Overall a so-so episode, but it shows promise. I'll stick it out for the season and see how it goes.
Unless Fox cancel's it.
