Sounds like this was as good of a card they could have hoped for given the circumstances. Smolka should definitely get a top ten opponent next.

He's speaking out for himself and the ability to do whatever the fuck he wants. He's defending his wearing of the poppy to others that criticized him for it, hence the 'all' comments.

Combined with Khabib not wanting to fight anymore because the juice isn't worth the squeeze,

http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/10/30/9640524/morning-report-ufc-joe-rogan-miesha-tate-ronda-rousey-conor-mcgregor-kimbo-slice-mma-news

Miesha Tate makes no money despite being a big star in the division, all the lip service to equality in sports is fuckin' BS. When Joe Rogan dishes out criticism it's even more credible to me because of how much he loves Dana.

Might be the best fighting podcast around. Frank Mir's commentating game translates well to breaking things down on the podcast, and Lundell is a wealth of knowledge. I'm listening to episode #5, their breakdown of the Cormier/Gus fight is fuckin' sick.

Other than she is willing to speak her mind and not give a damn, what is the hate on Ronda's mom?

I don't follow her on twitter but from the little I read in Ronda's book and her moms wiki page, her mom seems like a hard working, intelligent woman that doesn't care what anybody thinks.

She came off as horribly ignorant on TUF, tried to use the "tough love" approach to justify her upbringing of Ronda when in reality she has the same mindset as the psychopathic child pagent moms who get reality shows on TLC.

I guess I have to chalk that up to my upbringing, then; calling a woman a cunt is beyond the pale, to me. I can't even imagine who should would have had to kill to earn that pejorative.

If he had just called her an asshole, I wouldn't have blinked. Probably not even if he called her a bitch. Cunt, though? I'm sitting here, like, "Which one of Curry's relatives did Ronda's mom push in front of a speeding train?"  :o

Curious, Dub-Cee: you wouldn't have the same reservations about using the term for a guy?

Some people over here in America group it in with the n-word and the f-word (the gay one), so it's pretty bad.

Alan is only 31 but has dealt with a ton of injuries, I knew he was already unofficially retired with the eye issues and the increasing time its been since his last fight.

I did not know this. As Curry said, over here it's just a term of abuse. It's certainly not language I'd use in front of my parents. My wife, on the other hand, will use it in front of hers without blinking, and they'll use it right back. And no, it is NOWHERE near the n-word. I don't think anyone ever here actually uses the 'gay' f-word anymore, and I wouldn't have thought it to be any more offensive than any other homophobic slur.

My particular favourite use of this word was when a Northern Irish guy was explaining to me about how some workmen came out to fix a leaking radiator with the phrase "Aye, the cunts came out to fix the cunt." Although this guy is something of an anomaly, since I think he replaces every third noun with it.

Angela Hill got her walking papers which is probably the best thing for her career. 115 lbs is a shark tank of a division and she needs way more seasoning before she faces that talent level. Win a few more in Invicta or RFA and she'll be back no problem.

The fact that she even went 1-2 in the UFC with a year training says a lot. Give her a couple injury free years to get some more experience and she could probably be at least Top 10.

Depends on how she shores up the holes in her ground game. I think her stand-up was overrated too to be honest, she was getting outlanded by Tecia Torres who is mainly a lay and pray specialist.

Cro Cop posted a long essay on his facebook page in Croatian. The rough translation is that he had a bad shoulder injury in training and is out of the Hamilton fight, and with all the nagging injuries and pain due to 80 fights in Kickboxing/MMA in 20 years, he's retiring.

rough translation:

Quote

Dear friends, I had to unfortunately cancel the fight in Seoul. As early preparations hurt my shoulder and so I could raise a hand. I tried to save his shoulder injury and repair in all possible ways, and daily therapies and injections of blood plasma and various cocktails of drugs but did not work out. the only remedy would be a break of two to three weeks and that I could not afford in the midst of final preparations. daily training the injury only worsened. part muscle snapped, his shoulder is a lot of fluid, and the great danger is that tendon ruptures and then again in operation. I do not need it, especially at my age. all summer, I walked in Munich on therapy at one of the famous doctor works chronic inflammation of the tendons on the grips sit bone that's driving me crazy, in Vinkovci when I go 2 times I have to stop working during times of pain in these tendons that hurt me terribly, seated right knee which was operated on four times, too. and now even the shoulder, back not to mention. Whenever I go to a magnet no matter what, and what I record, report begins with 'degenerative changes', but that is the price that must be paid. people naturally see only one side of the coin, material things, and for the passion, pain, blood and tears no one asks or cares. but it is so in life. now two in the morning and I can not sleep, thoughts and tinkles spinning his career before his eyes. and I am aware that I have come to the end of his martial times. but training the pain no longer want. my body izraubano of countless training, collected 9 operation body has become prone to injury, after each workout I put ice on his knee operated on because it was full of liquid, twice weekly. next fight would have been 80 this professional and that is a lot. especially in this competition. K-1, Pride, IGF, UFC. The biggest problem will be my adaptation of the 'civilian' life. no two workouts a day and the eternal journey around the world, which we will not be so tough on you. I train while I'm alive because it is my life but not at this rate and I was glad in a way. This is not an immediate decision because I'm unhappy doing all this but my final decision. and it is best for me. sooner or later the time comes when one must and the health of their thinking. I had a really long and rich career and I believe I left a deep mark in the martial arts, in a free fight in K-1 and have nization pour. thanks to all who have followed me and supported me and remain beautiful memories and memories. greetings!

I think I saw on Bing yesterday that Rousey says that she's voting for Bernie, because he doesn't take money, or something. I haven't read up much on Sanders, but my gut reaction is that that strikes me as something that's unlikely to be true.

Luis Santos couldn't make the welterweight limit for his rematch with Ben Askren at OneFC, Askren said that he would still fight him if Sapo could stay below 190 lbs and he couldn't even make that. Fight is cancelled. Bulllllllshit.
