After a lengthy HOH contest, Cody and Frankie finally came away with the victory. They got an assist from Derrick, who gave them instructions during the competition. Cody was still considering targeting Caleb, but was going to wait and see if anything else developed.
Even though the Bomb Squad was officially over, remnants of the former alliance were still working together. Cody, Frankie, Zach, Derrick, and Christine came together to form an offshoot alliance called the Detonators.
Team America’s new mission was to nominate someone they believed to be a physical threat (of course, that can be open to interpretation). It was tough for both Frankie and Derrick because the strong competitors were people they were aligned with. Frankie also had to deal with potential blowback because he was an HOH. The team decided to pick Amber, the strongest female competitor.
Frankie tried to minimize the damage, so he pitched the idea to Caleb and Amber. Caleb was mostly ok with putting her up. Amber of course wasn’t happy about it. She failed to see the logic in that move and wondered why none of the guys were willing to step up and be nominated.
Brittany talked to Frankie about Cody. She didn’t like the way some of the other girls were chasing after Cody. She believed that Cody would base his nominations based on that. Frankie went back and told Cody, who felt insulted that Brittany believed he operated that way.
Victoria has had a rough go of it in recent days. She’s viewed as a floater, so no one knows what her mindset is. On a less strategic note, no ones wants to room with her. The others think she’s high-maintenance and keeps people up at night. Brittany talked to Victoria to let her know what was up. Victoria was taken aback about the house’s apparent dislike of her.
Later on, it was Brittany’s turn to be insulted, as Cody nominated her and Victoria. Brittany was mad that Cody labeled her and Victoria as similar players when he stated his reasons for his nominations. Frankie’s noms were Jocasta and Amber (and with Amber nominated, another Team America challenge was successfully in the books). Even though Amber knew she had a high chance of being picked, she still took it hard. Amber was tired of being the guys’ pawn, so she talked to Christine in the hopes of aligning with her and Nicole.
The next Battle of the Block took place on a giant chessboard. Each player would take a turn moving like a knight in chess. That meant they could either move two spaces vertically and one space horizontally, or two spaces horizontally and one place vertically. Spaces that were previously landed on could not be used anymore. Once a player had no possible moves left, they were out of the game.
For the most part, the girls were winging it with no real strategy. Jocasta was the first person to get trapped, eliminating her from the game. Now, Amber had to rally on her own to beat two other girls. It was tough, but she pulled through and outmaneuvered Brittany and Victoria to win Battle of the Block. Amber and Jocasta were safe from elimination and Frankie was dethroned as HOH. Jocasta was so beside herself about being safe that she was practically speaking in tongues (really, the only way the sounds coming from her mouths could be described).
Frankie wasn’t worried because he knew he could get another crack at HOH next time. He was also aligned with Cody anyways. Cody was satisfied that his nominees were still on the block. However, there were other players he was targeting more, such as Caleb. With Power of Veto yet to be determined, the block was still subject to change.
