Enzo and BIG CASS (w/Carmella) vs. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder

Enzo gets the upper hand on Dawson and walks on his back. When Wilder comes in to help Cass interjects and Enzo hides behind the big man. Enzo continues his patented offense of throwing himself/having Cass throw him at his opponent until Dash sends him into the post to take control. The heels work Enzo over until Dash gets posted himself and it’s hot tag Cass. Colin Cassady running wild is one of the best things in wrestling right now. Carmella slaps some sense back into Enzo and he goes up, but Wilder pulls Cass out and sends him into the steps. Enzo gives chase but walks into a massive clothesline from Dawson and the Shatter Machine (Codebreaker from a 3D position)…..gets the pin? Well then. Nice to see another team get a big win like this, but this kind of throws into question Enzo and Cass winning the tag titles in Brooklyn, doesn’t it? In fact, Enzo has been a pretty big detriment to the team lately so they could start to work a breakup angle if they have more plans for Cassady as a single.

The Greatest Tag Team in NXT History talk about getting the job done when called on. They may not see eye-to-eye and Jordan still won’t finish the catchphrase and we really need a matching JORDAN hand towel set on the shop already.

We recap the feud between Charlotte and Dana. According to Dana, Charlotte took all her inspiration and fitness advice from Dana but Tapout chose her because of her name. Dana Brooke is such a great delusional self-absorbed heel.

Baron Corbin squashes TNA stalwart Jesse Sorensen. Next.

Once again, Tyler Breeze barges into GM Regal’s office looking for an opponent for Takeover since Regal hasn’t answered any of his MANY social media requests. Regal: “I sent a carrier pigeon.” He says he’s gone to the ends of the Earth to find Breeze’s opponent and tells him “Be careful what you wish for.”

Jason Jordan and Chad Gable (1-0) vs. Elias Sampson and Levis Valenzuela Jr.

Jordan controls on Valenzuela who tags to Sampson and IT’S GABLE TIME. Gable wrestles circles around Sampson as Jordan smiles on the apron, but Valenzuela distracts Gable enough for Sampson to BLAST him with a forearm to take control. After a basic heat segment Gable makes the hot tag to Jordan who sends Valenzuela across the ring with a belly to back suplex and their awesome finish (called the Grand Amplitude) makes them 2-0.

Devin talks with Dana Brooke who promises a win against Charlotte tonight. Shockingly she stops herself from patting Devin on the head, but “Psyche!” she does it anyway. You will get your revenge someday, Devin.

We next get another Bull Dempsey is Fat segment as Bull has thrown away the Doritos and declares it’s time to get Bull-fit. This is either the stupidest thing ever because it’s just “LOL fat people exercising” or the best because it’s “LOL Bull Dempsey exercising”. Bull is actually pretty good at being a comedic character and it’s keeping him on TV so I guess he could be doing a lot worse right now.

Charlotte vs. Dana Brooke (w/Emma)

Charlotte is PISSED in this match as she immediately goes to work on Dana, dropping knees on her until Emma distracts her (we’re gonna have this in every match tonight, huh?) and Dana takes over. She talks trash about Tapout while she has Charlotte in her bow and arrow thing, but Charlotte fights back and levels her with a spear (Dana’s sell isn’t as great as Sasha’s but a fine #2) before Natural Selection finishes. Decent match to seemingly blow off this feud and lead to Charlotte’s match with Bayley next week, which should be really good.

Samoa Joe talks about his match with Rhyno next week. Rhyno is a vicious predator but Joe is gonna choke him out next week.

We go back to last week as Regal is asked about getting punched by Kevin Owens, but Owens walks up and seemingly gives Regal a sincere apology. Regal doesn’t buy it for a second.

Devin talks to Eva Marie about her first match last week. Eva wants the NXT Women’s Title and puts Sasha Banks on notice. Oh boy…..

Kevin Owens squashes Martin Stone, reminding us that yes, Kevin Owens can still win matches. He adds an apronbomb after the match for good measure.

The Vaudevillains vs. Blake and Murphy (w/Alexa Bliss) (NXT Tag Team Championship)

The Vaudevillains take control to start the match and English armdrags both champs sending them cowering in their corner as we take a break.

Coming back, the heels try to regain control on English, but he sends Blake out and backdrops Murphy out on top of him. Blake manages a boot to cut off English and finally take control. They rather boringly work over English until he makes the hot tag to Gotch who disposes of Blake and the Vaudevillains set Murphy up for the Whirling Dirvish, but Alexa grabs English’s boot and he’s rolled up for the pin. Afterwards the Vaudevillians beat up the champs and send them out, leaving them alone with Alexa. However, they are Manly and Chivalrous so they hold the ropes open for her. Alexa, the best heel ever, smirks at them and slaps the taste out of both of their mouths before leaving with her boys. She knows that she can get away with anything because, evil or not, nobody will hurt a pixie fairy cheerleader. This is also how you book heel champions as they use whatever underhanded ways they can to keep their titles until you want someone to beat the crap out of them.

OVERALL: This week’s theme was “let’s establish a whole bunch of tag teams at once!” Out of the blue it seems that NXT has made itself a nice little tag division instead of relying on the same two or three teams. There really could be like three or four teams getting the next shot at Blake and Murphy right now. We also set up two matches for next week and are slowly seeing the Takeover card take shape.

That’s it for this week @PKIsTwitting on Twitter to say hi.
