The Resistance: Demo(n)crats in the Era of Trump

TikTok does have a lot of influence, but in this case it's mostly a good one. Hillary is a complete waste of space and man that line up with Fetterman in it lol.

Biden put a 25 million dollar bounty on Maduro so I am not surprised WHATSOEVER by any Democratic establishment non-opposition to this.

A youtube kid made a fake video and the media and the perpetually online fell for it.

Republicans chanted the r-word outside his house because they thought it would tickle Daddy Govt in the feelings. They were right.

Walz was cancelled because he was good at his job. This is a consequence of our choice to be led (or "entertained") by broken mediocre manchildren.

The crowds chanting the r-word outside his home are gonna be even deeper in their feelings over that press conference.

Kamala had more rizz than Hildawg, on god. This is giving skibidi energy, not chopped. Shit's a 6-7.

It's funny how the Dems are flabbergasted as to why Zohran is popular, and a big part of that (as well as why Bernie, AOC and Ilhan Omar are popular) is because at the end of the day, he talks to his base like adults.

"But the proposal has more steps to go before it could be in place in time for the 2026 midterms. In addition to approval from the legislature, the redistricting also requires voter approval of an amendment to Virginia's constitution in a special election planned for April 21. Gov. Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat, has yet to approve the special election. She faces a deadline to act by 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 11.

Currently the state constitution gives redistricting power to a bipartisan commission. The amendment would let that commission be sidelined because other states have already redistricted for 2026 — outside the usual once-per-decade cycle.

The Democrats' redistricting effort is also facing a challenge in the courts. Last week, a circuit court judge in rural southwestern Virginia said the Democratic lawmakers had not followed the law in the amendment process.

Democrats appealed shortly thereafter claiming the Republicans were "court shopping" in finding a circuit judge who would rule their way. A Virginia appeals court asked the Supreme Court of Virginia to take up the case in a Wednesday filing."

This will be interesting to watch as the map would give Democrats, in theory, a 10-1 edge for 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections.

In a different time I would oppose gerrymandering or court packing or any of these kinds of things. But I think this stuff is necessary now. Uncomfortable, yes, but necessary.

Big win for the progressive.

"She had 29.3% of the Democratic primary vote to 27.6% for Malinowski by Thursday evening. Mejia ran with support from prominent progressive leaders including Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, raising her profile in a field of 11 Democratic candidates in the Feb. 5 primary.

Yet in cutting down Malinowski, the group’s (AIPAC) ads helped give an opening to Mejia, who has been critical of Israel, saying it had committed genocide in the Gaza Strip."

Uh oh, AOC was a bit clumsy answering a question about China/Taiwan, time to clear the rail so we can run her out of town.

Lotta rumors this guy could literally leave within a week or two.

"Fox News Digital was told on Wednesday that lawmakers believe Rep. Neal Dunn, R-Fla., is considering not serving out the remainder of his term in the House of Representatives before his planned retirement at the end of 2026, and that he was discussing the matter with House leadership.

Another Republican departure before the March special election to fill the seat abruptly vacated by former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., would see the House margin fall to 217 to 214.

It would mean that Johnson would be dealing with a one-seat margin of error likely until August, when California Gov. Gavin Newsom has scheduled the special election to replace the late Rep. Doug LaMalfa, R-Calif. Special primary elections in Florida generally take place 120 to 130 days after an early departure from Congress, with a general election likely 70 to 80 days after that."

I wonder if there will be even more GOP resignations before November. Could help ensure flipping the house. The Dems will probably squander a couple winnable districts by running out some old assholes.

I've heard part of Dunn's leaving (rather than just "retiring" or running for another office) is literally fear of a GOP nut job with a gun, especially in a place like Florida, going after him or his family if he didn't fully leave especially if he retired and then went against Trump/Republicans on any votes before the official end of his term.
