Something's wrong with Ric Flair

Has Ric Flair wrestled his last match at age 75? If so, he would have broken the legendary longevity record set in by the late, great Lou Thesz.

this is amazingly tonedeaf even for ric.

That consent form is a riot. Where's the seal and signature though? I wanna know what Flair's wax seal would look like. Liquor in a rocks glass? A limousine?

Not happy with the love and attention Jim Ross got, Flair once again has skin cancer, coincidence I’m sure!

Not enough edits of Flair flops with harsh fart sounds

Flair's interesting for me because he has officially been more pathetic to me longer than he has been entertaining. I can't even feel bad for him.

I get that. I still loved Flair into the middle 2010's for some reason. Even now, I still go back to his old matches and promos and feel much more joy than with someone like Hogan. I will say that one of the first matches I really loved as a little kid was the 1992 Rumble. I would watch that tape religiously when I was like 6 or 7. I was too young for Hulkamania and he was just the weird old guy in yellow underwear that would hog the spotlight from my favorites like Sting, Bret, and Macho Man. Flair is a little rougher for me to completely see as a joke as an old man.

Reading more into his behavior (The way he treated minorities and women most importantly) coupled with The Darkside episode about the Plane ride was what got me to discard him as a person, although I still love the performer.

Still, I do think he doesn't know where he is at times. Which even at the end, I didn't get that vibe from Hogan. Like why was Flair on Helwani's show in the year 2026 in the first place?

I think the WWF run is some of his best work. His arrival signaled a change that ended up being years ahead of its time, honestly. Savage was the perfect foil, the stuff with Heenan and Hennig was the most fun stuff as a character he'd done in several years, and he worked his ass off while also kinda learning more how to work against characters and not just workers. He went back to WCW a more complete performer than he already was, which is nuts. I associate him being one of the major faces from a period of being fully aware of things, if that makes sense. I remember previous years in pieces but I remember Flair's time quite well.

But like, he's done so much to tarnish so many moments by just being a piece of shit. He's squandered a legacy ten times over because he's a drunk fool, and now that there's nothing left other than others to cash in off his shitty behavior, it's so hard to consider his previous self the same guy. He's become the old drunk that gets goofed on and don't care as long as he gets another drink. His story has a better ending if he dies in 2004.

I wasn't insinuating that you were. It's more on me for reading too much wrestling news on reddit. I've seen like 4 or 5 different Flair clips this week and each one was less coherent and more pathetic. I was just wondering why they drag him out there anymore when it seems like most people just find him irritating at this point.

You watched 4 or 5 Flair clips this week, for all of the hand wringing we all collectively make about how the ickiness of Flair today, he’s still weirdly captivating and he’s aware of that charm and people will book him on shows because he’s gonna get them clicks and views.

I found the clip about “who is dutch mantel” hilarious and he doubles down with boasting he can call Trump and Barkley whenever he wants and Dutch can’t.

You're right. I'm having a rough personal day, and probably should've stayed off the board today. I'm in a really bitter mood. so I'm sorry if I'm being a downer, and if I derailed this thread.
