Maybe that's why he did it?Apparently Brock’s retirement was spur of the moment and HHH had no idea.
There’s a rumour that HHH is furious because he really wanted him to job to Gunther at Summerslam in his hometown...
92 WargamesIs the 90's five star match Dustin got War Games 92 or is it the tag match with Steamboat against The Enforcers on that Clash in 1991? I assume the one in the 2010's is the Cody match from the first AEW PPV in 2019, and the 2020's is the Fletcher match from Dynamite.
Who knows if Dave would've rated any Dustin match five stars in the 00's, but I wish he was taken more seriously when he returned in great shape in 2002. If Dustin would've been able to have a long PPV singles match with someone like Angle, Eddie, or Benoit in 2002, it could've possibly gotten to that level. A Jericho/Dustin singles on PPV in 2002 would've been great as well, although I'm sure they had a four minute match on one of those Raw's during HHH's reign of terror.
They had a really great tag match on the Raw right before Christmas in 2002. They also had a good match at No Mercy that year, but I remember the top ring rope breaking towards the end which hurt the match and finish.I think his highest-rated 00s match outside of rumbles was a tag with Booker against Jericho and Christian.
They had I believe three matches with The Shield that were on TV and they were all fantastic. The one your thinking of was from Battleground 2013 where Dusty was the cornerman, and gave Moxley/Ambrose the Bionic Elbow. It had a stip that the entire Rhodes family would be fired if they lost, and the crowd was molten hot for it.Wasn't there a great tag team match with Cody vs Shield members on an otherwise not-great ppv around 2012 or '13 too?
With the peak now being 7.5*, you can divide Meltzer's ratings by 1.5 and get a more accurate score based on pre-Okada/Omega/Ospreay credibility.Nope, Dave didn't rate the Wrestlemania 25 match as five stars either because he thought the cameraman dive spot was a botch. He was really tough with his ratings especially in the 00s and early 2010s. Now its the opposite, where a forgettable brawl like Drew Mac vs Jacob Fatu gets **** 1/4 (Same rating he gave the HBK/HHH street fight from Summerslam 2002 for example), and there are multiple five star matches every week. Starflation is a thing with Meltz.
