I've been meaning to tell you guys to check out Alabama Shakes. I don't know anybody in the band personally, but they're all from up around where I grew up.

Overall the Grammy's are pretty awful, but I think at least once every year, during the show, you find a hidden gem that was worth sitting through all of the crap for. This year it would be the Alabama Shakes. I had never heard of them until the two second clip during the nominees for Best New Artist. Then I was blown away by their lead singing in the "supergroup" performing a cover of The Weight. Album purchased instantly on iTunes after that. Good Great shit!

Saw them for the first time in SNL last night. Blown away. CD purchased and loving it.
