Album vs Album: EVOL vs Sister

Okay, people. Let's get our hands dirty by picking which Sonic Youth album is better.

1986's Evol or 1987's Sister

Were I to make a list of my 100 favourite albums, EVOL would be the Sonic Youth album I'd include.

 

[The Coat Is My Father]

Tough choice. These two albums represent the peak of the band to me. I'd have to tag team with Alfie here though. EVOL is, I dunno, spookier? Sister has some moments where the production kind of flattens the atmosphere.
