"You Took the Words Right out of My Mouth" by a wide margin, but the other three are wonderful as well.

I recently heard for the first time Jim Steinman's original recording of "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through." I didn't realize it was Steinman at first—it sounded like some old Todd Rundgren song I somehow hadn't heard before—and was surprised, as the Rundgreny vocals were decent and I was under the impression that Steinman had a lousy singing voice.

Turned out Steinman didn't sing this particular song, though his weak-tea crooning can be heard on Bad for Good, an album full of mediocre rehashes of Bat out of Hell, "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" being the pleasant exception. (Though I did kinda like "Surf's Up"—not a Beach Boys cover—and was amused to find that Steinman later self-plagiarized a bit of the melody for "Total Eclipse of the Heart.") BUTT, didn't you like Bad for Good? You had it for a screenname for awhile, right?

I do like Bad For Good, though I only took it as a name as a prelude to changing it to "Bad4Good," which is the name of a band fronted by Danny Cooksey of Salute Your Shorts fame. But it would be better with a different lead vocalist, and I don't much like the arrangement on "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through."

Rory Dodd was the singer on "RARDCT" and "Surf's Up." He's the guy who sang the "turn around" parts on "Total Eclipse," and he also sang backup on many of Steinman's projects, including Bat Out of Hell I and II. Jim sounds OK on some songs, but he absolutely should not have sung on "Left In The Dark," a song which was later covered badly by Barbra Streisand, and then covered well by Meat Loaf. In fact, Meat has covered almost every song from Bad For Good (and done them better), except "Dance In My Pants," a poor retread of "Paradise By The Dashboard Light," and "Stark Raving Love," the intro from which was later reused for "Holding Out For A Hero."

Regarding the topic of this thread, "Bat Out of Hell" is my favorite of the singles, but "For Crying Out Loud" is my favorite song by Steinman or Meat Loaf.

And that's my least favorite song on the album, but then it shouldn't be a shock that you and I do not see eye to eye on something on one of the few things we both share an appreciation for.

I went with Paradise... but it's a tough call for me, I love the entire album and I don't know if I've ever just listened to one song. Maybe heard 2 out of 3 on the radio once or twice, but I always listen to the entire thing as one long ass track.
