Almost this. I perk up when I hear the opening to "Hot For Teacher" or "Running With the Devil." I think the only songs I actively avoid are "Jump" and the rare occurrence of hearing "Right Now" on the radio.

For some reason, this weird story has been coming up a lot lately even though it's been out for years.

I actually think Daryl Hall in late '80s/'90s Van Halen could potentially be very, very good. Van Hagar coincides Hall & Oates' sharp decline in commercial popularity.

Or Van Hall could have been epically sucky. I don't see it being as bland and forgettable as a lot of the Hagar era stuff in any case.

I have no grand opinion on Van Halen. Jump is sort of annoying after 20,000 listens. The opening music riff is part of the Packer radio network's long time bumpers, so I can't outright hate it due to Sportsball tie ins.
