There was a time as a child when I didn't realize Hardee's or Dairy Queen were national chains. I had never seen a commercial for either on TV, the branding in-store at both was sparse compared to McDonald's or KFC, and Hardee's had a bunch of menu options like their fried chicken and biscuits and gravy that stood out compared to other chains. My grandmother took us there for breakfast before church on Sundays a lot. I did later realize that the Dairy Queen in my town was basically just a diner that sold DQ ice cream. They had a really good breakfast buffet!

Anyways, I haven't eaten Hardee's in probably close to 10 years at this point. I do remember thinking they were the best of the big chains back then, but there are so many good burger places now, I don't see the point.
