The judge just delayed Chris Brown's formal sentencing until August 27th at 2 PM PT. The judge said she wants Brown to perform Caltrans type work -- hard labor -- for his community service and the type of service hasn't been arranged yet. So she's deferred the sentence until later this month.

We're waiting for the lawyers to take the mic downstairs.
