that game was a fucking rollercoaster but glad Messi got one and France didn’t win again. Once a Gunner Always a Gunner Emi Martinez came through big, too.

Or, alternatively, how crazy the 00's Spurs alumni group chat must have been this weekend? 'Cause you know that Tony and Manu have been talking cash shit to each other.

Messi's joining the MLS. Pretty huge get IMO but I'm a way more casual soccer fan despite watching various Premier League games on the weekends because they air so early in the AM for the East Coast.

The Euros have started, I enjoyed the Italy/Spain game. Spain deserved the win for sure.

A lot of people don’t like that style of match, but I really liked seeing Italy bend but not break in that classic defensive style. But they were just not going forward at all, Spain was free to apply so much pressure and eventually one broke through, even if it was an own goal. That Italian keeper though is unreal good lmao but I think they have no real attacking threat up front, I can’t see them going far unless they have an easy road, which is unlikely. Croatia is a tough game to begin with, so they might not even make it out of the first round.

Nico Williams looks like he could become a legend, looking online he doesn’t seem to have a lot of honours. But this dude was a threat every time he brought the ball up on the wing, nutmegging dudes like crazy and he has the high footballing iq.

France/Netherlands was a great game as well, lots of missed chances because I think players were not clinical enough with the finishing, kept trying to pass off good scoring opportunities. There were some good ones still, though.

Okay I guess I’m just gonna discuss the euros by myself like a blog, that’s okay. This Romania game is really interesting because statistically Belgium would seem like they dominated especially after that second goal but I actually liked the flashes of brilliance from Romania more. The pressure they applied and the chances they created were really fun to watch. They lost today but I think they have a bright future. Very “total football” energy, almost everyone seems like they can contribute to the attack. Hagi’s legacy as a trainer may be greater than it is for his playing days, which is saying something.
