The keeper limit will be 10 players. Teams keeping less than 10 players, will get consolation pick(s) in the consolation round which will occur after round one.

Keeper Luxury Tax:
If a team would like to keep an 11th or 12th player, they can. However they will have to forfeit certain draft picks. If they keep an 11th player, they will forfeit their 1st and 4th. If they keep a 12th, they will also forfeit their 2nd and 3rd

Draft:
Draft Start: March 1st, 2022.
Treble will kickoff the draft with the first overall pick for winning the consolation tournament.

Draft will be 10 rounds for next year. For rounds 8, 9, and 10 we will have 24 hour lightning rounds that will just be first come first serve. In the event things are progressing slow, we will start the lightning rounds sooner. The remaining roster spots will be filled by the Benchwarmer Waivers after the draft. Draft order will be the inverse of the regular season standings, non-snaking.

Fantasy Baseball League Rules

A. Teams can select a maximum of 10 keepers of any position. A 11th, and 12th keeper can be kept by paying a Keeper Luxury Tax.

B. Teams can choose to keep less than 10 keepers.

C. All keepers must be turned in by Feb 15th.

D. If keepers are not submitted by the deadline date, the team is considered open and a replacement manager will be found. Keepers lock on the deadline for all teams. Any remaining players that were listed as not kept after the deadline become free agents for the draft. They are no longer under your team control.

F. If a team keeps less than the maximum number of keepers, TEN, they will receive a compensatory round draft pick for every spot below the maximum.

Keeper Luxury Tax:
If a team would like to keep an 11th or 12th player, they can. However they will have to forfeit certain draft picks. If they keep an 11th player, they will forfeit their 1st and 4th round picks. If they keep a 12th player, they will also forfeit their 2nd and 3rd round picks.

G. A team will NOT receive a compensatory pick if they trade a keeper after the keeper due date deadline. Even if you trade a keeper after the deadline and drop below the 10 keeper max, you will NOT receive a compensatory round pick. Compensatory picks assigned for being under the 10 keeper maximum are assigned immedately following the keeper deadline. Comp picks for this will not be assigned again later on.

H. The compensatory round takes place after Round One in the draft. Compensatory picks are slotted based on worst to best end of regular season standings results. If a team has a second compensatory round pick, it is slotted in the same manner after all of the other team's first compensatory round picks arr slotted. Compensatory round picks may be given out at the discretion of the commish under other circumstances.

I. Injured/Retired/Unsigned/Suspended keeper exemption. If a manager decides not to keep a player after the keeper deadline takes effect they can cut said player. However, they can not add any other player from their roster as a replacement. Instead, they will be awarded a compensatory pick at the end of the compensatory round. If a manager decides to cut a player during the draft, they will be awarded a pick at the end of the draft, better than nothing. If a player is cut during the draft, that player is ineligible to be drafted by any other team. The player is essentially on waivers and can be added after the draft through waivers. A player can not be cut if he is not seriously injured, retired, unsigned, or suspended. A significant injury is classified as something to cause a player to miss at least half the season. Example, broken leg/arm, acl tear, tommy john surgery.

J. The draft. The draft is ten rounds, non-snaking, worst regular season record to best for slotting. Consolation Winner receives the first pick in the draft. This is an extra pick. If the consolation winner leaves the league, than the prize is vacated for that season. The remainder of a team's roster is filled by post draft waivers. Those post draft waivers are slotted worst end of regular season record to best. Teams incurring time limit delays 2 or more during the draft lose their spot and go to the end of the line. After the initial post-draft waiver period passes, the waivers are reset to the initial ordering for the regular season. There is no benefit to not use your waiver claim spot after the draft. If you do not fill your roster at all prior to the waivers being reset, your season number will be slotted at the end of the line.

Draft picks can be traded at any point during the season, off-season, and during the draft. Trade must be posted in the league thread on this forum and both teams confirming it. If you make a trade involving picks and after the season a team leaves, the traded picks are still in effect.

K. After the Fantasy Championship matchup has ended, the in-season trade deadline period will be lifted. Trading can again commence. Managers must post in the Fantasy Baseball thread any trade and both managers involved in the trade must confirm the trade is true before it is validiated.

L. During the draft, a manager has 12 hours to complete a draft pick. The time starts immediately following the previous selection. If a manager selects an already drafted player, the clock immediately starts for the next manager. They are allowed to skip the team making the invalid pick. This is not considered a delay for the manager making the invalid pick, they can just make a correct pick when they next get on. After a team's 2nd time limit delay their time is dropped to 8 hours. After their 3rd delay, their time is dropped to 6 hours the remainder of the draft.

M. If you draft a player without stats for the prior regular season during the draft that is a Rookie BEFORE the Yahoo! player pool is posted, and he is not in the player pool by the END of the draft, you lose that player as a draft pick and any rights to that player AND will be forced to select someone from the remaining undrafted players ONCE the draft is completed. This is a pretty uncommon situation anymore, but could still happen.

N. New managers inherit all facets of their team when taking over a team, players, draft pick slot, draft pick trades.

O. Team Abandonment.
If a team is left abandoned or neglected during the season. The manager is subject to be replaced. Poor performance is not considered neglect. Leaving an injured player in a starting lineup in a league that has daily roster moves for 3 or more weeks is. If your team falls in to general starting lineup neglect, expect to get a message suggesting to make some roster moves. If no moves are made within a week, don't be shocked if you get replaced as the team's manager. This rule is designed to prevent the teams that are left for dead mid-season and their manager never returning.

P. League Year.
The new league year begins immediately following the keeper due date deadline. For this season, the new league year begins on February 15th, 2022.

Q. These rules are subject to review and revision after the season is over and prior to the start of drafting at the discretion of the league and the commissioner.

I'm going to be setting up the yahoo player pool either Friday or Saturday, along with cleaning up the first post some.
Draft will begin officially Monday March 1st.

I think I will use the same draft input method I either used in this league or NFL/NBA last year where I input keepers, finalize the draft, put players on continuous waivers and then I manually add players to rosters through the ADD Free Agent feature. Then when we finish drafting, I'll re-enter the full draft on yahoo. A tiny bit extra work, but it keeps the player pool much more accurate throughout drafting because I can update it through a mobile device anywhere, instead of only at home from a desktop using the draft tab. Since yahoo still only has the draft results tab updatable through a desktop.

Yahoo Player Pool Is Updated

Keepers have been added to rosters on yahoo. I'll add drafted players to rosters on yahoo like I did in the NBA & NFL league draft last year. During the draft I have everyone's add/drops locked down on yahoo. When we are done drafting, I'll reset the yahoo draft list and fully input all of our Keeper & Draft Results in and re-finalize it.

The draft grid is located in the first post. Our draft will officially start on March 1st at 7 am EST. Treble will be on the clock and have up to 12 hours. If Treble wants to post his draft pick prior to then, that is fine. Time limits will not be active until March 1st.

Post your draft pick in this thread. Each pick has a 12 hour time limit. If a manager is consistently going over the 12 hour time limit, then his pick time will be reduced the rest of the draft. If you aren't going to be around, feel free to send me a message with your potential draft pick for that round and I will post it. If a pick goes over the time limit, the next manager is automatically on the clock. If an invalid (already drafted) player is selected, the next pick is automatically on the clock. The manager over the time limit or with the invalid pick can just jump in and make up their selection when they next get online.

We have some Lightning Rounds toward the end of the draft (Rounds 8 9 10), depending on the MLB lockout status, we may just be able to draft these rounds normally. We'll have to see how the draft is going the round prior to them and I'll decide if we will use the normal round method or lightning round method.
