Two weeks until release.

I am still excited. Found out today that ToysRUs.com has the pre-order for $37.50, so I guess my order will be placed today.

Its from the studio that made he surprisingly good Bourne game and the transformers games that improved when they took over. Its like...their whole deal is delivering games that are better than they should be.

so I preordered too lol

It is a generic hack and slash but it has so much fucking crazy that I am enjoying it.

It's solid and unspectacular in every regard of the actual playing...but the voice acting and sheer mania of it elevate it to a good fun time.

It's very Deadpool so it has done it's job with flying colors. The Cable song is great.

The only thing that really bothers me is the terrible camera and how it functions when you're trying to fight enemies who chase you. ARGH!

Picked it up today. Just got to the part where Vertigo sends you down the tunnel and it turns into an obstacle avoidance, like in Sonic 2.

5 stars. Best game ever.

My copy showed up in the mail last night. I put it in and played through the start of Genosha and am loving it. Would mainly just be echoing other people's thoughts if I put a lot of detail in but I am having a ton of fun.

The boss fight with the Sinister clones on one of the floating islands on Genosha is fucking annoying and makes me want to throw the controller in rage, but then the loading screen tells me not to do that and I'm, once again, at ease.

People seem to love this game, yet critics seem meh to it. What's the verdict from TSM?

I love the game. The camera is an ass sometimes but I love the combos, love the humor, and think the level design looks are actually pretty well done. The thing is sold on the Deadpool humor and they nailed his crazy ass down perfectly.

Voice acting was great all around too.

If you love Pool, get it. If you don't like Pool, avoid it.

The level designs are great, the banter is fantastic, and if this doesn't hype up the possibility of a Deadpool movie then people are wrong, but the game, in and of itself, is fairly generic. The camera angles are odd and you'll have to get used to moving it mid-combat, and timing the combos can be tricky at times, not to mention that enemies will swarm you if given the chance, but all in all? Definitely a fun game, which is all you can ask for, really.

Throw smoke grenades and run past them so the clones get stunned...walk up and finish them. New smoke bombs spawn every so often up top so just run around until they do.

So basically, its an okay game, but the story actually makes it worth more. That's cool to know. Hopefully I'll be able to get it somewhere down the line.

I might give this a look when it's a lot cheaper. I was loving Deadpool at one point but eventually dropped his book a couple of years ago (issue 44?) around the time his stalker was introduced. Just felt it became a one trick pony. Is this loosely based on any of the already existing D'Pool stories, or is this a completely new scenario?

That's what I ended up doing, plus a lot of running away while shooting behind me. I always forget about the teleporting gadget, too, so getting hit by the projectiles is annoying. I made the mistake my first try on this of overusing flashbangs on Blockbuster's clone, forgetting that hitting evade when he's charging lets you stunt him. Arclight's an annoying bitch, too.

Still a damn fun game. I want DLC missions. Now.

Well I've been running through it (got it in the mail on the 1st) and it's pretty fucking funny. Just finished the three tests. Taco Cable kinda weirded me out, but I'm glad that High Moon just decided to not half ass it and go as completely over the top as possible. I think my biggest "holy shit" laugh was when Cable was blabbing on and on and you had to "make it stop".

Now that I'm making an effort to finish this and have gotten to Genosha.. Holy hell this is some of the worst (or at least annoying) combat I've ever experienced in an action game. =/

I have to get back to this. I got partway into the poo sewer before I showed it to a friend, who wanted to borrow it. Just got it back, so now to find the motivation to hop back in?

Dubuque - did you get full achievements/trophies too? I heard some were a big pain and not worth going back for. I usually shoot myself in the foot at times wanting to be a completionist and waste time on dumb stuff like that.

I only got whatever trophies came organically while progressing through the game.

The comment about the combat and gameplay, I just find so many things that irk me:
-the camera that you have to keep spinning around.
-the insanely random difficulty spikes.
-the fact that as soon as an enemy sees you, they all swarm you and start chasing you, so 99% of all battles are you running around backward in a circle while trying to fire at them.
-stealth seems tacked on and it only happens when they let it happen - it might as well be a QTE. Like it was just added in as a gimmick to be used about a dozen times and not an actual gameplay element that you can use throughout the game.
-the lock-on targeting aspect feels tacked on too, and not even thought through, especially activating it - never mind keeping it activated.
-and fuck that last level that leads up to the half-assed "boss" encounter. There was nothing fun about it..

It's like this game wanted to be the Batman Arkham games SO BAD but just completely misses the mark with it's half-assedness. I feel like this game would've been served better as an animated movie. Skip the game, just watch the cutscenes.

Yep. This was a bit annoying, but I got over it quick. It adjusts itself alright enough for me, but I'm an admitted casual gamer.
-the insanely random difficulty spikes.
The only one I can think of is that "final boss" battle that, yes, sucked cock.
-the fact that as soon as an enemy sees you, they all swarm you and start chasing you, so 99% of all battles are you running around backward in a circle while trying to fire at them.
Level up your combo's and hit O/B (depending on the console) to attack somebody that's about to hit you, which is what the game tells you to do.

Yeah, total gimmick here, just for fun little kills now and then. I enjoyed it for what it was, but I tend to dislike stealth games and stealth missions in games, anyway (except for the Pripyat chapter of the original MW).
-the lock-on targeting aspect feels tacked on too, and not even thought through, especially activating it - never mind keeping it activated.
It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but it's second nature now. Use this primarily on the flying/floating enemies, ones at a distance, those bastard wall-portal things, or the ones hiding behind pillars/walls on elevated levels. That's really all it's good for.
-and fuck that last level that leads up to the half-assed "boss" encounter. There was nothing fun about it..
Aye!

I think it plays more like a parody of the Arkham games, personally, with the main point being just dumb fun, gore, and the hilarity of it all.

Give it another try. The final boss battle is awful, but the game overall is still p. fun.
