There's a famous Chicago area homeless rapper named Sharkula. I smoked him out once for a CD and we had the following conversation about Kool Keith.

Shark: Hey man, do you like Kool Keith?
Me: Yeah man, I saw him once at a festival in Florida
Shark: Well, me and my buddy just recorded this new CD.
Me: Oh yeah?
Shark: Yeah man. It's 10 bucks. Do you want it?
Me: Is Kool Keith on the record?
Shark: Kool Keith? I love that guy!

I was way into underground rap in high school and loved this album when it came out, but I was partial to Black Elvis/Lost in Space

Even KK's best solo stuff has a lot of chaff; Black Elvis (which came out on a major label!), First Come, First Served, and Sex Style all have too much filler. But then that's a lot of hip-hop albums.

I'm gonna have to give Kool Keith a try again. I sort of never gave him a fair shot since the lamest smelliest dude I knew in high school (I was a sophmore and this guy was a 5th year senior) would always talk about him and praise him like he was the father he wished he had.
