I think there are enough TSMers playing this that we should have a thread for it.

A lot of my friends say this is the best game they've played in awhile and I was looking for something to recreate the initial Skyrim experience (holy shit look at that! wow look at that! wow!) and I think this might capture it.

I hear mixed things on the story but I guess that's secondary.

Who is playing this and what are you thinking?

Got it yesterday. The story so far is intriguing but I hear it simply loses steam in the second half.

Really like the open-ended gameplay where you decide how you want to tackle missions.

I'm eyeing it.. I have so much fucking backlog though. It's on sale everywhere so I will probably pick it up. ;)

I sunk a solid 8 hours into yesterday and only did 2 story missions.

It's frustratingly hard to start (I ended up fighting 8 guys just outsides the starting area armed with the starting pistol and 20 bullets, and just after I killed them I turned around and a tiger ate my face) but once you start getting some new weapons and skills it gets easier but never a cake walk.

Burning a pot plantation with a flamethrower while dubstep plays is pretty fun and I hate dubstep.

One complaint though (and it's pretty minor) but when you're hunting a lot of animals can take way too much damage. If I shoot a deer in the fucking head with a bow and arrow it should die, not run away and take 2 more arrows before dying.

I had four dingoes stalking me so I threw a grenade into the middle of them.

Unfortunately, that got the attention of a bunch of dudes and I had no more health syringes.

I'm dying to get this in my hands... I've heard quite a few epic kill/escape stories from my buddies.

Oh and don't get within 5 feet of any source of fire. You sill ignite simple by walking too close to a torch or a campfire.

I do wish the little tag you put on animals with the camera stays after you kill them because its a bitch finding them in tall grass to skin them.

I did the pot field mission last night but I just threw a bunch of Molotov's and hung back to pick off guys as they ran towards my position.

Man, I still have SO MUCH shit to do in this game. I think I'd slot it into the #2 or 3 slot in my top 10 games list.

I just unlocked the grenade takedown skill. I want to use it every time now.

Just finished the story.

After you kill Vaas it kind of drags a bit as Hoyt isn't as good a villain at first but the last few missions make for a strong ending. I decided to save my friends as Citra seemed to be trying to manipulate me the whole game. It almost felt like the ending to Assassin's Creed 3, but 100x better pulled off

Now to take out all the outposts and buy that awesome assault rifle you unlock when you do all the radio towers.

If The Walking Dead didn't exist this is my GOTY.

I went the opposite way with the ending because the character kept making a big deal about how he finally found somewhere he belongs.

You kill your friends. Then Citra fucks you and while you're still inside her she tells you how she's pregnant and how your child will rule the Rakyat. Then she stabs you with that dagger.

Finally got my repaired Xbox back and have started this up. Frustrating at the beginning... can not do very much, but I can already tell this is going to be a special game.

Didn't like this game as much as I thought I would. I joined Citra... OOPS.

So do you guys subscribe to the theory that it's all in Jason's head? The Alice in Wonderland quotes and just how perfect/epic everything is lead credence to the theory. The developer said it's up to the gamer but mentioned that everything is a little too perfect.

When this came out on April fool's day - a lot of people thought it was a joke. It is not.

I'm going to buy the shit out of that game.

What's the story on why it was made? Just some of the Far Cry 3 programmers having a laugh and then going...wait...we should totally make this?

Good news is that it's standalone. Don't need to have Far Cry 3 to play. It's out May 1.

I didn't love Far Cry 3 but I need to play this.

I have yet to check out Farcry 3, but I played the Blood Dragon demo. Hilarious. "I fucking hate tutorials!" The Terminator 2 vibe in the beginning was a videogame "mark out" moment. Loved the chain attacking. Gonna get this one eventually.
