Would you like to elaborate on why? Even though you're wrong? I don't know who the best band ever is, objectively speaking, and I can't even pick my own favorite band, but Fleetwood Mac is not the answer to either question, or really, any question other than "name a band."

"Tusk" is pretty badass. Um...I don't know I think they're one of those bands I kind of liked only to spite my dad (See also: Steely Dan and The Beach Boys), who would always decry how they sold out when Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the band.

This band is pretty not good, though it's not as if I want to run screaming from the supermarket where I inevitably hear them.

It's not for a lack of trying that I haven't gotten into Fleetwood Mac, either. I spent some time with Rumors and Tusk a few years back but they never clicked.

Somewhat related: I haven't heard this album, but, really, even it being 1973 this cover should've never left the artist's mind much less the drawing board:

It's pretty disgusting how McVie and Fleetwood still associate with Jeremy Spencer after he (allegedly!) molested his daughter but whatever, the bond of the blues runs deep.

Stevie Nicks's love of cocaine enema's is one of the best sleazy stories in rock, and I like her song "Blue Lamp." Other than that, I'm not a fan of Fleetwood Mac.

I like them, but they're hardly the best band of the 70s, let alone ever.

They're a great band, but they could have been ten times better if drugs and infidelity and general craziness didn't destroy them from within. The Behind the Music episode with them is pretty interesting stuff.

That's absurd.

I love Tusk and Rumors. They're actually playing the giant gaudy new Sprint Center in Kansas City in a few months. I'm very seriously considering it.

They have some good songs, but holy fuck are they not even close to being a great band, nevermind the greatest. They're basically The Eagles with a female singer. Which makes them better than the Eagles I guess, but that's not saying a whole lot.

Comparing them to contemporaries of 70's soft rock, I'll put myself out there and say CHICAGO is better than Fleetwood Mac. ELO is better too. E L FUCKING O.

ELO had a handful of really neat songs, but the deeper you dig, the crappier it gets. Chicago shouldn't be labeled as "soft rock," but if they are, they've only themselves to blame. What a shit factory. Oh well, I'll always have "South California Purples."

Is Fleetwood Mac still touring in some enfeebled state? I bet aging boomers would pay out the ass to see a similarly aged Fleetwood Mac.

Not quite, but almost "out the ass", at least judged in comparison to bands of a similar stature. I like that they're calling it the Greatest Hits "Unleashed" Tour. Clearly they have some reservations as to how racous they're capable of becoming at this stage.

Also, apparently the show was two days ago. Whoops. I'm not too broken up about missing it.

I forgot Chicago. They are a pretty sweet band, but I like more Fleetwood Mac songs than Chicago songs. I think growing up with my mom who almost exclusively listened to Fleetwood Mac does not help influence my mind any. I do remember liking the Beach Boys a lot, too.

They could have had more than just Tusk and Rumours, is my point. And if you're going to that concert, take out a second mortgage for tickets... They aren't the same without Christie McVie, to be honest. You'd be better off buying The Dance instead.

I've always wondered what it would look like if two blind drivers ran a red light at the same time, during that transitional moment when both sides of an intersection have a red light. I'll never know, but that post was probably the closest approximation I'll get.

After listening to about 200 hours of 70s soft rock radio at work recently, I've determined that the only Fleetwood Mac singles I like are the Christine McVie songs. It's very irritating to have a pretty good run of songs interrupted by goddamned "Rhiannon," but I can totally deal with hearing "You Make Loving Fun" slotted between "How Deep Is Your Love" and "Oh Babe, What Would You Say."
