How much non-streaming TV do you still watch?

These drops in numbers especially cable numbers make me wonder how much anyone is really watching TV anymore.

I really only have a cable package anymore for two reasons. 1. Live sports 2. Getting it as part of a bundle means I get Disney Plus free and HBO and other things included in my streaming package.

I only had cable for some of the last few years for Lions Football. I only watch through streaming now. Roku channel is alright for catching news.

I only use it for baseball and football now. There are a couple of network TV shows I still watch (primarily reality shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Survivor) but even with those, I wait until the next day when they show up on streaming and that way, I don’t have to deal with the commercials.

Yeah there's a few cable/network shows that I watch next day on streaming to avoid commercials still or just because it's easier than DVRing it.

I mainly have Youtube TV just for the live sports (especially NFL) but I've found ESPN+/soon to be ESPN Unlimited blows it out of the water for stuff like NHL, CFB, and CBB.

There's a handful of shows I record and watch next day to fast forward through commercials but I found myself watching stuff through Youtube proper, Netflix, Prime, and lately Google Freeplay/Tubi TV almost 60%-65% more than I watch Youtube TV. With that said, I'll still use Youtube TV for certain channels and I actually watched 12 Angry Men on TCM last night.

My neighborhood HOA provides cable along with the internet. I occasionally use it to watch sports if something happens to not be on a streaming service. But that's incredibly rare. I'm just as likely I find a pirate stream it I'm not using the TV. I don't follow any Florida sports teams, so regional coverage does nothing for me.

I've been watch the Cricket World Cup on Willow lately. That's been pretty fun.

A Knicks/Liberty game once in awhile if im not somewhere else watching it and that's pretty much it. I use Pluto TV for the cable simulation/experience and stream anything else. Haven't had cable in well over a decade.

I have cable mostly for live sports, my cable box is almost always on TSN or Sportsnet. I've found there's too much of a delay on their streaming services (and their UI is pretty shitty, too). For Blue Jays games especially where I have live game alerts on my phone, its too far behind (not to mention if I'm following along on Twitter, too).

About the only non-sports thing I use it for is if there's an HBO show that I'm watching that I'm not wanting to wait and stream it later. SNL, too, I guess. I had DVRd the first 2 episodes on the new Scrubs, but then just realized I could stream it instead and did that.

Through shared passwords or whatever, I have access to Netflix (most of the time), Prime, Disney+, Crave, Apple TV+, and sometimes Paramount+.

Honestly, for the past few weeks what I've found myself throwing on the TV the most is the Filmrise Unsolved Mysteries channel I get through my Samsung TV and just leaving it on in the background while I'm doing other stuff.

Oh. I used to have rabbit ears hooked up to my PC with Plex to record Jeopardy every day. But it's on Hulu and Peacock now.

The vast majority of what I watch is non-streaming, mostly because I don't have a smart TV so if I want to stream I need to hook up my laptop to the TV. Live sports, AEW, various HBO shows, Sunday night Fox animation (Simpsons / Bob's Burgers / Grimsburg), whatever random show/movie catches my interest while scrolling through the on screen guide.

Whatever I stream is something that isn't available on "regular" TV.

Damn you live in Florida now? So many trtsmers seem to move there.

Also, sorry.

Not counting basketball and wrasslin', I'm currently only watching High Potential and the new Scrubs. And I probably shouldn't even get to count Scrubs because I watch it on Hulu.
