Glenn Danzig wrote and directed a horror movie called Verotika. See its combination between violence and erotic(k?)a.

I guess he's slow to the take that Rob Zombie's directing horror movies so metal stars should direct horror movies now? Don't forget the OG low grade horror directed by a washed metal star, Dee Snider's Strangeland or maybe do forget. Will anyone comment on this thread besides me and Laz? Would I have just been better off making this a comment in the Bad Movies Thread?

Strangeland got a bit of hype on VH1 circa 1998 (which was probably beginning of peak era of my VH1 consumption), which is weird cause I don't think metal got played in the VH1 Universe until VH1 Classic became a thing 4 or 5 years later.

Oh yeah I watched Verotika a few months ago. Sadly I found it more Boring bad than Funny bad. It's still one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It lacks the energy and written and acted by aliens quality of other bad movies like Troll 2, The Room, or Fateful Findings. But my god, the complete lack of style or flair from Danzig makes me appreciate Rob Zombie's movies more and I hate most of those. If you want to watch strippers and porn stars deliver 10 minute Shakespearean monologues, I recommend Verotika.

Also, Danzig looks like Richard Lewis now.

I probably missed him because tbh Verotika is the hardest movie to look at. It's impossible not to go on the phone or tablet and do something else. Also, I have to admit I did hit the ten seconds forward button on Shudder a lot.

It really is the pits. Like he wanted to recreate the kind of Gothic, erotically charged EuroHorror movies of the 60's and 70s, but he lacks the talent to pull it off. It's like "Birdemic" where when you hear about it, the movie sounds hilarious. Then you watch it and it's not even bad-good.

It's probably just me, but this movie taught me that Danzig doesn't seem to understand women or human sexuality in general.

I just like that he's getting dragged by practically everybody for how dumb a statement that is. It's like he forgot how pearl clutchingly repressed that era was, or how much edgier...well, basically every other classic punk band was.

Fear got huge and played SNL, Glennward, and they had a frontman who would regularly antagonize any and all before him. You suckerpunched teenagers and hid behind the giant that was Doyle.
