I don't know if they're the worst; I just know that I find them boring as hell. But hey, the people seem to think this minimalist throwback folksy style is REAL MUSIC.

Never got into them or Kings of Leon. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're worse than Nickelback, though.

Mumford & Sons is on extended hiatus! From what I've heard, they're done for an indefinite period.

I've got a couple friends who love these guys. They're boring but far from the worst band on the radio.

These guys played at a re-opening of an old tennis stadium in my neighborhood last year. They announced the show the morning of and tons of people were turned away at the door apparently.

Genericana is the worst musical trend out there right now.
Googling that term led me this little bit of LOL:

Fun. at least has the distinction of being "interesting bad," rather than "boring bad" (i.e., Lana Del Rey). I think ToddInTheShadows referred them as getting high on their own pretentiousness.

You guys in the States know nothing about Hedley, which is this generation's Barenaked Ladies.

It's like Canadian radio said, "we like 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk, but it costs too much to play. Let's get Hedley to make a grocery store brand version of it for cheaper."

I don't mind that Hedley song...maybe it's because I'm from Canada South. I'd say it sounds more like Dime Store Maroon 5 than Dime Store Daft Punk though.

Also, that is exactly how I've always thought of them. *highfive*

I've probably shared this story before, but my first expsoure to the Backstreet Boys was via Much Music, the Canadian MTV which, for a time in the 90s, was available through US cable providers. They hadn't become hugely popular yet, so I assumed they were Canadian. I couldn't imagine an American act trying to offer an updated take on New Kids on the Block. They just didn't seem terribly out of place with a lot of the other unfamiliar-to-me bands Much Music played.
