The Nikki French version, featured on MuchMusic's Dance Mix 95 album, is a pretty enjoyable beat, but it's not better than the original - "I Need a Hero" by the same artist is better though. Still good though.

The Literal Music Video version is good too.

My heart says that there are at least a couple of Jim Steinman songs that are better than "Total Eclipse," but I'm not going to argue with a song that hits as many emotional home runs as this one. That Nikki French cover can fuckin' blow me, however.

At first I thought it said Owner of a Lonely Heart, and I was thinking to myself "WTH is Byrone smoking?". Honestly. this is one of the best songs recorded. Truly great.

The original is great, but Nicki French takes it to a whole new level. She has something to say and wastes no time saying it.

Nah, she takes a power ballad that stands out among all others and turns it into just another average dance song. She might as well be singing "Another Night" or "Tonight Is The Night Is The Night Of Love," it doesn't matter. There's no feeling in her singing. Those words don't mean anything to her.
