Hey guys, I just got a new laptop with windows 7, and whenever I try to use torrent programs, I can't go on the Internet. Even when I d/l updates for windows I can't browse the Internet. Does anyone have experience with similar problems?

Could be your upload speed is nuking all your download traffic. Try reconfigurating ports etc.
This is what mine does. Every time I let my upload speed go over 10 kbps it just murders my ability to do anything on the internet.

It could also be that your torrent client is making too many connections all at once and your router, if you have one, can't handle it. That's happened to me tons of times until I reduced my connection limit to 200 and the number of half-open connections at any time to 10 (if your client can change that latter one), then I had fewer problems. So, you might want to adjust that setting if you can and haven't already.

Check your firewall settings. I'm running Vista on my desktop now, and I've had no probelms.
