Bobby Heenan & Sting come across real well on this episode. Madusa makes some good points too. Bill Maher just seems kind of offbase and it seems like this episode was something pushed upon him. Roddy Piper just seems like a wackjob.

Someone uploaded the WCW Episode of The Dating Game on YouTube with Kidman, Disco Inferno, and Chris Jericho.

Jericho talks about this in his second book. IIRC, they didn't even end up going on the date and just took the $3,000 or so they were given as a prize. I think Jericho was already dating his future wife at this point too.

Actually, a friend of a friend went on The Dating Game in the late '90s/early '00s and won and said they did the same thing and never actually went on the date. My illusions of love...shattered. :'(

You have to wonder why they didn't bring Cornette to that Conan appearance. Fuji is just a laughably bad promo and the whole interview just came off poorly when you combine it with the fact that Conan was only two months into hosting the show and really inexperienced himself at the time.

I actually ate at the Nitro Grill back in '99 during a family vacation to Vegas. I loved it but I was only 13 at the time and was at the peak of my wrestling fandom. Our waiter was really nice and gave me a free autographed 8x10 of Ric Flair that I might still actually have at my mom's house somewhere.

I went to the Nitro Grill a few times as a kid. First time I went I found out SCREAMING NORMAN SMILEY had been there the night before. I was so sad I missed him but the waiter brought me a signed 8x10 of Norman doing the Big Wiggle in his hardcore attire.

WCW thread? I guess so. I have been watching Nitro through 1996, made it to the episode past Fall Brawl. This may be the best booked wrestling company in history until it all got fucked up. Some of these crowds are bringing nuclear heat.

The only real negative is that Bischoff is terrible on commentary.

Daff looks better now than she did then. Liz is just all skin and bones.

WCW could've avoided a lot of problems in the short term if they just let Goldberg keep the belt when he beat Sting at Halloween Havoc 99. It's a drop of rain in the ocean but they only had so many feelgood moments. Besides Goldberg and Sid killing one another in shockingly good brawls for a while suits me more than killing Bret off.
