Kevin Nash Appreciation thread

Then he should talk to his buddy Paul about a few things.

I don’t know if anybody has been paying attention to the whole Kevin Nash/Je’Von Evans mini-controversy, but if not, it’s kinda…yeesh.

First Nash says on his podcast that Evans is a great athlete, but he needs to be more urban and less like Mr. Bojangles.

Then he rightfully gets all sorts of heat for that, because it’s probably not up to a 66 year-old white dude to tell a young up-and-coming black athlete how to act.

So Nash finally posts and apology on Twitter, where he somehow manages to dig the hole even deeper, claiming that he’s the only one who cares about the development of black talent.

So of course, he gets a bunch of heat for that, so he deletes the tweet.

Maybe sit this one out, Kevin.

It’s funny, at one point I actually thought he was a reasonably intelligent guy, but maybe he has CTE or something because over the last year or so he has said some pretty damn stupid stuff on his podcast. And of course, whenever he gets called on it, he claims he was working or just trying to get clicks.

Yeah I've been semi-following. I think Nash is intelligent on some subjects but when he moves off of those he flounders. He reminds me of a lot of older liberals who mostly get it and then all of a sudden will say something really offensive and not want to really listen to why it was bad because "no you see I have (insert topic) friends!".

It reminds me of a hilarious bit by Craig Ferguson, when was talking about a lesson he finally learned, that took him three marriages to figure out.

Before saying anything, always ask yourself three important questions:

Does this need to be said?

Does this need to be said right now?

Does this need to be said by me?

I think Kevin really needs to start asking himself that question before he shoots his mouth off on his podcast, and it would save us having to hear some of his truly galaxy brained takes on things, and it would save him all sorts of heat, and having to backpedal.

Dude had merch about Vince's lawsuit. His opinions on real life are suspect.

Nash should hire himself out to Wrestling schools and teach rookies how to deal with social media, podcast interviews and controversy or a PR crisis:

“Look at how I dealt with the Je’Von Evans situation. Do the exact opposite of that.”
