Anybody else ever run into this situation?

Pretty sure I got some form of malware that is related to sticky keys and has the computer showing my right Shift key as being on/stuck (so that it quasi-acts as caps lock) yet all my scanners haven't found anything (including Malware Bytes).

Other sites have reported similar issues with no real solution that I've found. The issue just randomly started in the evening of 3/19 and people have posted that using a completely different keyboard has not helped matters either.

Right now trying to work around it using the left Shift key but it's an annoying hassle.

Had that problem after an update from Microsoft. Ran Malware Bytes (which froze so I had to delete it and reinstall it) and Spybot, did a full scan, cleaned up my system with CC cleaner and then looked for more microsoft updates. Eventually after all of that cleaning and searching, an update came and the sticky keys went away.

So did my issues I was having with Google Chrome.

Honestly do not know what caused it but that's what I had to do to fix it. It was a serious pain in the ass.

Its caused by holding hitting the shift key 5 times in a row. After a certain Microsoft update sticky keys would always activate by doing that even though you don't have it checked marked. To correct this on Windows 8, you'll need to go into Control Panel -> Ease of Access Center -> Make Keyboard Easier To Use -> Set Up Sticky Keys -> Keyboard Shortcuts and uncheck Turn Sticky Keys on when Shift is pressed 5 times.

Stupid, but likely what's happening.

Nope, sorry Flik but had them turned off (and unchecked everything multiple times afterwards just to be safe).

Thanks for the post 2Gold, that's largely what I'm thinking has happened as well as I had installed several Microsoft Updates from roughly the 15th through the 19th so I figure one of them probably did the damage. Guess I'll have to hold out for another update down the line.
