I've always been overall more of a Marvel person than a DC one, so while I didn't try the DC MMO this one I might give a shot depending on how it unfolds.

Looks very DCUO'ish (not a bad thing, IMO). I still wonder how it's going to work with them letting you be characters from the universe and not your own original creation. Can there only be one Wolverine per server, etc?

It's PC only (too bad because this type of action MMO lends itself well to the console, IMO) and is also completely free-to-play (with microtransactions, of course).

The only way I can see you playing it and it being Marvel Heroes only and no created heroes, is if its a Diablo clone.

Will it have a monthly fee? That's still a big one with me. I mean, 5 a month isn't a big deal but anymore and I feel cheated since I won't play it THAT damn much.

I am not sure about the fees.. But I just read on their wiki entry that it's browser based, so it will probably be free with micro transactions.

Honestly, if the browser thing is true there is a 100% "chance" that I am skipping it. This kind of game was made for consoles, or classic PC gaming at the very least.

Its a browser based game? Ouch. I was pretty tempted to play this still, even if it wouldn't let me create a new hero, but that kinda kills it for me since I want an actual game for the PC at least.

Marvel Heroes will be a free-to-play game and will not require a monthly subscription.[5] While micro-transactions will be used to fund and support the game, players will not need to spend money to access the full game.

This pretty much sounds like a Facebook game to me. Like the Dragon Age one. Honestly I really wish this kind of shit would just go belly-up. Or at least utilize the franchises for developers with larger plans on consoles and PCs.. I'm a DC fanboy but I certainly agree that a Marvel MMO deserves more than a browser based "videogame".
