So I was supposed to get The Producers the other day, but it never arrived and when I went to check on things, it told me that they had received it and sent out the next DVD in my queue. Plus, a Jackie Chan movie I have coming wasn't in my local distribution center so they sent me an additional one as part of their new policy. So now I'm going to have six DVDs at home (well, five since I'm sending one out tomorrow).

Has this happened to anyone else? Also, if anyone hasn't added me to their Friends my e-mail is kingpk19@comcast.net

I've never had one not show up and have they say they received it, but I've gotten the extra DVD from a non local office twice now. Being on only the 1-disc plan it's pretty cool when they do that.

I'm on the 1-disc plan because I'm just using it for my 360. Streaming movies straight to my xbox is great.

So how exactly do I get signed up with Netflix? How does it work? It's like 8 Dollars a month right?

Indeed. I can't understand how people can constantly complain about the selection for instant streaming, considering there are 12,000+ titles with new content being added weekly.

Timmy, the 1 disc at a time (unlimited total) plus instant streaming to your PC or Xbox 360 is $8.99 per month.

I think I know why I didn't get that movie.

God damn. You know, I'm surprised more Netflix discs aren't stolen due to those red envelopes.

How long does netflix take for everyone else to get their discs? I figured it'd be pretty slow up in Alaska, but they actually have a local branch in Anchorage, so if I mail something out on Monday they'll get it Tuesday, send a new one out on Tuesday, and I'll get it on Wednesday. So on the one disc plan I go through two discs a week. Mail discs out on Monday and Thursday, receive them Wednesday and Saturday.

That's the same turnaround time for me. I have two centers near me, one in Worcester and one in Brockton and I get my stuff primarily from the Worcester branch. According to FeedFlix I go through 11 discs a month on average (I have the 3 at a time plan).

I read that they are planning on rolling out Saturday processing in all their centers like GameFly has, which would be awesome.

They don't already process on Saturday? Guess I didn't know that. I pretty much never send my discs in on Friday because I like getting one Saturday and having Sunday as the non mail day to keep it as well.

Okay I'll bet this is somewhere else around here but I have used Blockbuster Online for the last few years, building up a hefty list and had enjoyed the in store exchange plan quite a bit. They used to have turn around times of about a day and sent out my next online rental as soon as I dropped it off in the store. Now with all their crazy rule changes I hardly ever get my online selections. Is anyone else having the same nonsense with Blockbuster? I'm considering switching to Netflix, since I think their selection is better anyways.

I also have the one disc plan just for streaming on my 360.

I've managed to recieve roughly 5 dvds in the last 5 months...because they just sit there unwatched for weeks on end.

...

Also the instant section has added mystery science theater 3000... YES.

Oh man thank you for pointing that out. My instant que is about to get much bigger.

Edit: Ok well not so much bigger, as apparently it's only volumes 15 and the 20th anniversary set. Still a very awesome thing though.

I'll be willing to bet that they made a deal with Shout Factory and we'll be seeing a fair amount of their DVD releases on Instant. I'd love to see Rifftrax stuff as well (the full-length ones they put out on DVD like Night of the Living Dead and the shorts collections that is).

They just added them a couple of days ago. My hope is that it is they'll add more. Either way...it was a nice surprise.

I guess since this thread has been resurrected I should mention that anyone that streams and hasn't bookmarked StreamingSoon.com really should. It looks like we are going to be seeing a lot of SNL stuff added pretty soon.

Rocky III in ten days? Fuck yes!

II too but that's the second worst behind V IMO.

Holy shit, every season of SNL released on DVD so far is coming too!

Well, it's second worst but it's not bad. All of the stuff leading up to setting up the rematch, at least on the Rocky side is pretty god damn boring. It's basically ninety minutes of Rocky looking like a dope with a really cool ending.

Okay okay, you may have something there, but Apollo Creed shit talking while in a wheelchair is too awesome.

$8.99 per month. There's not as much available for streaming that I liked as I hoped for when I subscribed, but it's still completely worth it. If you watch the movie you get in the mail the day you get it you can go through two discs a week + all the streaming for that price.

Having been a Gamefly member for two years before joining Netflix I was absolutely amazed by how fast Netflix is. Or maybe it's just how slow Gamefly is.

Yeah I got Netflix a couple months ago and it's probably the best purchase I ever made. The streaming is my favorite part of it.

There's still something like 15,000 releases available to stream. I have had my queue maxed out at 500 for a long time.

By the way, thanks for the link, PK. Where did you see the SNL stuff?

I've been going thru Miami Vice recently. I do wish they'd add the season 3 and 4 of Dexter since I don't have Showtime..
