NFL Offseason Thread 2026

Bengals signed S Kyle Dugger.
Titans signed RB Michael Carter, formerly of the Cardinals. Titans signed QB Hendon Hooker.
Lions signed S Chuck Clark, formerly of the Steelers.

Pack traded WR Wicks to Philly for a 5 and 7. Philly promptly gave him a 12 million dollar 1 year extension. I would have screamed had the Packers tossed that cash at him.

Ron Wolf was in the Jets office when they drafted Nagle over Favre.

49ers signed CB Jack Jones, formerly of the Dolphins.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Colts and Kenny Moore “have agreed to seek a trade and a new home for the veteran corner.”
Falcons signed RT Jawaan Taylor, formerly of the Chiefs, to a one-year, $5 million contract.

Without a first (I'm still totally ok with that for Parsons), it's good they added a couple more picks. Not super likely to pan out but GB's had some success in later rounds & they like to go with quantity over quality.

Dang, I forget about that Bears thing. I think he did the right thing after Chicago announced his hire before a contract was done (and he was still with Arizona). Fortunately, in this case, he was rewarded and got the head coach gig with the Cardinals

I guess I remember him mostly for putting together a D that helped Arizona beat the Cowboys in the 98-99 playoffs during Arizona's half of second of relevance in the 90s.

Andre Wadsworth, Mark Smith, Simeon Rice and Eric Swann were touted in SPORT magazine as possibly the new "Fearsome Foursome" in the NFL. I kind of hate that I have brain cells dedicated to remembering that

I don't remember Mark Smith but definitely remember the hype for the other 3. McGinnis the Cards coach looked completely different than when he was with Fisher for like fifteen years. He went from a Steve Spurrier thing to a combination of Bob Seger and Moses.

Smith had a hot first 2 years, then got hurt and went to die with the Browns for a moment.

Looking up stats I see Wadsworth tried a comeback in 2007 with the Jets after also flaming out via injury 5 or 6 years earlier.

Initially disappointed there wasn't an emu, I'm glad I kept reading. Give him a chance!

Jaguars acquired DT Ruke Orhorhoro from the Falcons in exchange for DT Maason Smith. Ruke was taken 35th in 2024 NFL Draft while Maason was 48th in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Texans signed DE Will Anderson to a three-year, $150 million contract extension. $134 Million guaranteed.

There was also an audio clip from around March of 2020 when Russini was vehemently denying any interest in Tom Brady from the Titans, citing "sources" who wanted to re-signed Tannehill at QB instead (and she even went the route of "why is this a big deal?" re: Brady to Tennessee), and eventually news broke out that Brady was signing with Tampa Bay instead.

"Russini was working for ESPN when this encounter took place. Vrabel, meanwhile, was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. Five days after they spent time together in a bar, Russini shared a report about the Titans' rumored interest in Tom Brady.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk asked if ESPN will review Russini's reporting from 2020. The network declined to comment on this situation."
