Joe Flacco is starting over a benched Anthony Richardson per Schefter.

Geno Smith paces all QBs in passing yards while Baker Mayfield is the only QB over 20 TD through the air. Suck it original franchises!

Derrick Henry is within 54 yards of 1,000 on the season. A lot of receivers clustered in that 550-650 yard range atop the leaderboard though, nobody really separating themselves from the pack as truly having an elite "monster" season.

Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Stefon Diggs (knee) tore his ACL and will miss the rest of the season. A blow to Houston but they have enough depth with Tank Dell, Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz, and Joe Mixon that they should be able to overcome this.

- Vikings acquired OT Cam Robinson and a conditional 2026 seventh round pick from the Jaguars in exchange for a conditional 2026 fifth round pick. Robinson was a 2nd Round pick and had started 91 games for Jacksonville.
- Jaguars signed WR Velus Jones Jr to their practice squad.
- Jets signed K Riley Patterson while Greg Zuerlein is dealing with a knee injury.

Zuerlein's knee injury is probably from a furious Jets fan nailing him with a tire iron.

"You're gonna tell them your knee's feeling really sore and that's ALL, the other knee goes if you don't."

Anybody got a disgruntled WR1 that isn't injured or old they'd be willing to take a 3rd round pick for? Asking for a friend..

Mike Holmgren is a semifinalist for the HOF, again. Hopefully they finally get it right. He should've been in years ago.

Yeah, tanking Carolina is a big mark against him, but he should still get in at some point. Both should've gone in before Cowher. It's something to induct coaches based on if they're on one of the dumbass pregame talk shows at the time.

I think Seifert deserves to get in (his run with the 49ers was truly dominant, winning 76% of his games) especially if you include his run as DC with San Francisco too. His win % was better than Bill Walsh and he was also still winning during the first few years of free agency.

Holmgren I'm more iffy on because he was great in Green Bay but largely mediocre in Seattle outside of a few seasons despite having one of the best RBs in that era (12 games over .500 across 10 seasons). I wouldn't be opposed to his inclusion at all though.

I'd have put Cowher in ahead of Holmgren (his longevity and win% boosts him for me) but Seifert should've gone in before either.

Looked it up. Mike coached 2 extra years compared to Cowher. Cowher had the better win percentage. Holmgren made one more Super Bowl.

Maybe Cowher should get extra credit for winning without a Favre at QB. Neil O Donnell was solid. Slash won 13 games one year. Tommy Maddox even had a winning record as primary QB one year. Then Big Ben made the last few years "easier" on ol' Bill.

The wheels came off in Seattle Mike's last year. Seneca Wallace started half the year and Julius Jones was the primary back. TE John Carlson was the lead receiver. 4-12.

I'm not sure I'd call taking a team to its first ever Super Bowl mediocre.

And I've gone on the record advocating for coordinators to get HOF attention. That adds, imo, to Holmgren's credentials with his work with Montana and Young. Seifert, too, on the defensive side of that dynasty.

Somehow I missed Josh Uche getting dealt to Kansas City for a 2026 6th Round Pick. Not a surprise as Uche, despite his pass rush skill set, is a very situation/one-dimensional player but the return wasn't great as it'll arguably be a 7th Round Pick (at best it'd be around the 27th/28th pick give or take with KC's general success).

On the flip side, great deal for KC as Spags can definitely utilize Uche as a 3rd Down Rush specialist.

Not sure I’ve seen a Bills player save their job quite like Bass on that 61 yard dagger. Unreal stuff.

There are 7 teams right now with a 2-7 record. That doesn't seem very good. Only 14 teams out of 32 right now have a winning record. We are more than halfway through the season.

Drake Maye is the real deal at least but the Patriots woes continue (poor, undisciplined defense at times with frequent penalties on both sides of the ball). Maye steps up in the pocket but he also has a tendency to look for the running lane by the OG/right up the middle almost immediately. Hopefully as he plays more games/next season he'll get more comfortable and keep himself in the pocket. Also his coming off an injury, maybe don't initiate the contact and take the hit when running downfield on that final drive, lol (as nice as it was to see). The game tying TD was an example where he extended the play but also maybe didn't need to be scrambling so much and putting himself in further pressure/danger of being sacked.

The flaw for a scrambling QB is that they allow the DL (or blitzer) more opportunity to sack them by moving and alternating their angle of attack. If you have a guy who's on your right engaged in a block and you run right, that gives the defender a cleaner opportunity to go after you and more of a straight line.
