Well, I'm certainly buying this one, now. It'll be fun to play in Anniversary Mode with my brother across XBox Live. I can't wait to skate into the goalie while he holds the puck and getting a cheap goal or two.

When you watch the video it makes it seem like it's just the same game with rules changes. 90% of it looks like it's just the same game...and then I can't tell if the other 10% is just window dressing. There are like 2 shots of a classic look...and one of them is just the actual NHL 94 game.

I've been playing the hell out of NHL 12 since getting it a few weeks ago and it's a lot of fun especially the Be a Pro mode. This one looks like it might be worth getting too maintaining my pattern of skipping every other game in the series.

I picked up NHL 13 a month ago for $30 and barely play it; play MLB The Show and get in and out of games in ~15 seconds and I can't bring myself to go back to anything EA with its 60+ second loading times.

IIRC, NHL 09 had a NHL 94 mode for controls. After turning off penalties, it was a ball (puck) to play.

This game is FAAAAAANtastic. Especially after finding sliders that make it challenging but fair. I really like the puck physics and the player momentum.

I like how the goalies can be challenging,but it isn't impossible to score at the highest difficulty. Hell, I am even 14-3-2 in online play. I'm typically a .500 player
