So here are the features that will not be in the game. List provided by Kotaku.

Cannot customize each team's AI
No create-a-team
No way to edit individual players
Practice mode is now limited to one skater vs. an AI goalie

Like some of those I doubt too many people actually used. Like Create-A-Play, Custom Music, Create-A-Team, etc.

But basically no online play at all from the looks of it here. Also for anyone who likes to play season mode and not deal with all the GM bullshit, you'll need to do a single season of GM mode, because that's the only mode.

So we're stuck with a single camera option (fuck) that will be the one that everyone hates, like Stanley Cup style. You know the game I'm talking about. And there has been 3 Stars as far back as I remember. That's quite bullshit.

Okay, what's the point of GM mode if you take out the draft, minor league stats and pre-season games? For a GM mode, everything about being a GM doesn't seem to be fucking there.

No option to sim ahead to the next shift
You only play in the NHL; you cannot play for minor league teams
The Memorial Cup tryout period is gone. You now begin by picking an NHL team, or by letting a random CPU team draft you.
No All-Star game

So let's get this straight. You aren't on the ice all the time. The option to sim the game to your next shift isn't an option. It is a necessity. Also, NHL only? Bullshit. I loved working my ass off to be in the big leagues. Well, unless my Memorial Cup was the fucking greatest ever (once).

The NHL team appears to be using the widely loved Madden 06 formula. I was actually thinking of getting NHL for the first time in a few years too.

I don't think it will make much and it will hurt them for the next release. It's because EA is a terrible company. They probably had serious setbacks and realized they were never going to get the game done on time for the new consoles if they were going to include everything so they decided to put out a stripped down game instead of nothing and just not give a fuck.

Maybe they'll release a "Slapshot DLC" for $9.99 where you can actually perform a slapshot. But hey, where have I seen EA rush a game out the door and face much backlash before?

I may pick it up for PS3 around Christmas time. No interest to buy it day 1 due to it seemingly being the same game as last year. Plus, I just started the Mass Effect trilogy so I am good for a few months.
