Aged 18 today.

One of the only metal albums I can think of that has been one of my very favorites since the first day I heard it. This is the sound of friends getting wasted and making metal, and became an instant classic among friends that get wasted and listen to metal. Fucking rocks so much.

I haven't listened to this album in forever. I'll revisit it this weekend and get back to you.

I remember a friend of mine bringing the CD to school, showing the back cover to people because it was so fucking cool that it featured a weed-smoking Jesus.

Best thing Phil Anselmo ever did and one of my favorite metal albums period. Also was the gateway drug that led me to sludge and doom.

"Temptation's Wings" is one of the best openers for a metal album ever. Such a perfect song.

I figured I'd give this another listen since my tastes have changed a bit over the last few years.

Nope. Still don't like Down.

Couple items:

Eyes of the South is still a top 3 song you can listen to before any fight, and you are guaranteed to win.

When Phil says "Losing All....*FUCK*" right before the solo, that's one of the best *FUCK*s ever

Pray For The Locust is an amazing Sabbathy interlude that deserves mention.

Phil's screams sound way better on this album than Pantera.

Bury Me In Smoke is the perfect closer. Also a good fite song and that fade back in to the crushing riffs is phenomenal.

The "Bury Me in Smoke" riff is one of those Riffs You Get Stuck in Your Head for Days™

This is the first time I've ever listened to this.

Same here. I'd never heard of Down and was listening to it and thought..... this really sounds like Phil from Pantera. Wiki has taught me there is a reason for that.
