Only other note I have on the match was that Chief Jay broke his wrist bumping out of the ring.

Eddie Ellner or one of the other Apter writers did a big write up (fictional of course) about passing on a date to go see his hero Chief Jay one last time. Then Jay didn't come out in gimmick and instead wore a HULKAMANIA shirt. His hero was dumped unceremoniously and the writer left the show before it was over to try and salvage his lost dinner date.

Bockwinkel was world champ only months before. It's kind of shocking the WWF didn't run a Twin Cities only angle to give us a quick Bockwinkel vs Hogan main event, maybe even in tag team form, so Hogan could get the W to FINISH THE STORY.

Bock's last AWA date is listed as Aug 2nd in Oshkosh vs Hennig. That might have been a special event tied to the yearly massive EAA airplane show that still brings in the masses to this day.

Bock shows up on WWF TV in Oct.
Twin Cities main events:
Sept Orndorff vs Bundy and Savage vs Kamala but Kamala quit to avoid jobbing to Hogan on SNME, Sika replaces him.
Hogan works OMG in Oct and Nov.

WWF @ St. Paul, MN – Civic Center – December 27, 1987 (matinee)
Randy Savage (w/ Miss Elizabeth) defeated WWF IC Champion the Honkytonk Man (w/ Peggy Sue) via disqualification; Jimmy Hart was suspended above the ring in a cage and Nick Bockwinkel was the guest referee for the bout

Thesz with a powerbomb(!) at 37:20. In 1951!
Kevin Nash, presenting the Lou Thesz Award to Shawn Michaels at the 2018 Cauliflower Alley Club: "Did you know Lou Thesz invented the power bomb? If it weren't for Lou Thesz, I'd have four moves."

Watching a clip of the backstage angle on the Main Event where Savage turned on Hogan as Miss Elizabeth was laying on the stretcher, something struck me. There was obviously no TitanTron in 1989 and the arena didn’t have video boards. So, the live crowd very likely had no idea they were in attendance for one of the most iconic moments in the history of the company as it was happening.

What's the scoop on why Koko's interview on the Lapsed Fan pod is causing a tizzy?
Most of it is fine, but Koko does ramble a lot. The guys make fun of him subtlety when Ware goes along with Hogan's fib that he saw Elvis watching the wrestling live.... in 1979.... Then it ends with Koko saying Hogan and Kamala were his 2 brothers who had his back and now both are gone. Then he brings up Frankie being dead as well and sobs for several mins as the guys try to wrap up the interview.
