Paula Abdul Gone From American Idol: Does It Make A Difference?

Ever since they hired the other chick, I got the sense it was a gradual phasing out of Abdul, or if anything, to keep here salary demands down.

Then came Seacrest's big payday and now everyone wants that cash.

The real question though, is her departure big enough to make a difference when the next season starts?

I've long felt that whatever show tops the ratings for the season should be canceled and replaced with the highbrow programming which airs on the Beeb. Also the Billboard charts should be a measure of quality, not sales.

I liked this show until 2007. The format is played out and stale. It'll last a couple more seasons through declining ratings and desperate gimmicks. I predict 2012 as the last season of this. Just a hunch.
