I got to see Prince in concert at MSG a few years ago. Morris Day opened and was amazing. They were on for an hour and had their own encore. Prince was fantastic and probably the best concert I've seen. I went with my parents who are big fans of him and I thought we would be the only white people there. I was wrong. I loved see 2 350 pound bikers rocking out to Prince.

Your pussy-licking timing is fortuitous, as I was just coming to bump this thread. Touré (who seems like a bit of a twat, but) wrote a book about Prince. Supposedly, it's quite good, and supposedly, I'm going to spend $9 and get it on my kindle with the quickness.

Did you ever read that 33 1/3 book on Sign o' the Times? Several years ago, I skimmed through it at a Virgin Megastore (remember those?), but that was about it. Seemed OK.

Just saw Prince is coming here in May. The set up was a bit different than I was expecting. He is playing this small, kinda standing room only venue on back to back nights, two shows a night. Tickets are like $230 a piece.

That's probably worth it, though he's been playing a suspicious number of shows of late where he just does weird covers and such. Prince club gigs absolutely have the potential to be him showing up, saying "unf" a few times, and letting somebody he knows who plays the trumpet play aforesaid trumpet for an hour.
