That sucks. I just loved hearing him talk about things as much as his work. Like he was a captivating loon and in a really strange way made me feel seen, as one myself.

The weirdest hot chicks you know need comforting in this trying time.

He was never my favorite filmmaker (found his filmography to be pretty hit or miss honestly) and I was never a Twin Peaks fan but he was highly intelligent and I loved watching him talk about movies. RIP Legend.

It's weird cause he's a stranger, but this one is kind of devastating. My favorite director ever and he influenced both my film and music tastes. I'll never forget the first time I saw Eraserhead and immediately I had to find similar movies. Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway, and Fire Walk With Me are among my favorite films ever. Twin Peaks is a top 3 show for me all time as well. He also had one of my favorite personalities for a celeb ever and was a fascinating person.

This is gonna be a shit year

RIP David

This is pretty much me although I kind of got into him "late" in my movie fandom and never watched Twin Peaks so I missed out on the hoopla surrounding it. I have gained an appreciation for his works but I generally found his stuff a little too weird for my tastes.

RIP

It's funny how Epic and me are on the complete opposites of the Lynch spectrum, cause I consider Wild At Heart one of his weaker movies. But, it definitely is one of his more accessible with Nic Cage doing his usual and a Wizard of Oz motif. I think that's the movie for the people that can't stomach his weirder stuff. Blue Velvet is oddly one of his more accessible films as well. Which is insane considering the dark stuff that happens in that movie.

I think you'd probably dig at least the first two seasons of Twin Peaks, HQ. Without Dale Cooper, there'd be no Fox Mulder, and the show pretty much inspired every type of procedural with eccentric characters. The Return might be too weird and it's a really unpleasant season overall.

Max added a David Lynch section compiling all his movies that were already streaming on there. Maybe I'll watch Inland Empire and works myself backwards.

It's genuinely heartwarming seeing how deeply loved/appreciated he was, but it was *this century* he had to self-release what ended up being his last theatrical feature because no studio, major or indie, would touch it. I'm paraphrasing here, but too much of Lynch's later life was like when Orson Welles said, speaking of his own difficulty in finding financing for his work, "everyone wants to have lunch with me but no one wants to make the movie".
